THE ROLE

The Social Content Manager owns the day-to-day social programs for assigned client accounts — and shoots them. This is a hands-on role that runs strategy through execution: building the calendar, traveling to destinations to capture original photo and vertical video, editing and publishing, managing the community, and reporting on what worked. It suits someone who can hold a client conversation in the morning and be shooting on location that afternoon, and who knows the difference between content that should ship quickly while a moment is live and content that deserves to be finished properly. The role reports to the Social Content Director and works closely with Creative, Production, Paid Media, and Account teams.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Social practitioner who is equally comfortable building a strategy and operating a camera
  • Confident solo operator in the field, able to work quickly and unobtrusively in public places
  • Editor with range — fast mobile cuts when speed matters, finished work in Premiere when craft matters
  • Strong editorial instincts about what is worth capturing and what is worth publishing
  • Organized enough to run several accounts, calendars, and shoot schedules without dropping threads
  • Clear communicator who can present work and results to clients and take feedback well

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

  • Own day-to-day social strategy and execution for assigned client accounts
  • Build and maintain content calendars tied to client goals, campaigns, and destination seasonality
  • Capture original photo and vertical video on location, traveling to client destinations
  • Edit and finish content across the full range of speeds — from quick mobile cuts published while still on location, to finished pieces cut in Premiere
  • Publish and schedule across platforms using Odyssey’s publishing stack
  • Manage community engagement day to day — responding, moderating, and escalating per practice standards
  • Monitor performance and deliver recurring reporting with insight and clear recommendations
  • Flag high-performing organic content to the Director and Paid Media for amplification
  • Brief and coordinate creators on assigned accounts, collect deliverables, and track usage rights and disclosure compliance
  • Collect talent releases and location permissions in the field, and keep assets organized and correctly tagged
  • Use AI-assisted tools within the standards and disclosure practices set by the Director
  • Partner with Creative, Production, Paid Media, and Account teams on integrated campaigns
  • Present work, results, and recommendations directly to clients
  • Track platform changes, formats, and trends, and recommend tests worth running
  • Support new business with account audits, content samples, and proposal input

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 4+ years in social media, content production, or a combination of the two
  • A portfolio of vertical video and social content you personally shot and cut
  • Working camera skills — phone-first capture, framing, natural light, and usable audio in the field
  • Editing fluency in both mobile tools and Adobe Premiere Pro; Photoshop, Lightroom, or After Effects a plus
  • Judgment about when speed serves the work and when it does not
  • Ability to read platform analytics and turn them into recommendations, not just recaps
  • Working knowledge of content usage rights, talent releases, FTC disclosure, and music licensing on brand accounts
  • Deep familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, and LinkedIn
  • Experience with publishing, listening, and analytics tools — Publer, Brand24 or Mention, Meta Business Suite, TikTok Analytics, YouTube Studio, or similar — and comfort learning proprietary internal tooling
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel, including occasional weekends and irregular hours around shoots and events
  • Experience in tourism, hospitality, destination marketing, media, or content preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Media, or a related field preferred

HOW WE WORK

This is a remote position with significant field work. Travel to client destinations for production is estimated at 20%+ annually and includes occasional weekends, early mornings, and evenings around shoots and events. On-location work involves carrying camera and audio equipment of approximately 25–30 pounds, extended periods standing and walking, and working outdoors in heat, sun, rain, and marine environments. Remaining work is performed at a computer.
