Job description

Bring Accuracy, Organization & Insight to a Growing Family of Businesses

Potentia Human Resources is proud to be leading the search for an experienced Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration for Crazy Creek Hot Pools Resort and its related companies. This position is based in Kelowna, BC.

Located in the stunning Columbia Valley near Revelstoke, Crazy Creek Hot Pools Resort is a unique destination combining natural hot pools, outdoor recreation, and hospitality. Owner-operated with an established team and strong culture, Crazy Creek is part of a growing group of businesses and property holdings, with owners based in Kelowna who value quality, professionalism, and accountability. They are looking to bring bookkeeping in-house to strengthen accuracy, organization, and visibility across their financial operations.

This is an ideal opportunity for a highly capable, detail-oriented bookkeeper who enjoys taking ownership, working independently, and ensuring the numbers are accurate and up to date. The role is primarily work-from-home in Kelowna, with flexible hours and occasional opportunities to visit the beautiful Crazy Creek Resort outside Revelstoke.

What You'll Be Doing:

Reporting to the owners, you'll manage the day-to-day bookkeeping for Crazy Creek Resort while gradually taking on several related companies and property holdings.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Manage full-cycle bookkeeping across multiple companies and entities;
  • Record daily financial transactions using QuickBooks accounting software;
  • Complete bank, credit card, and account reconciliations;
  • Manage accounts payable, payroll, and related records;
  • Maintain accurate financial records for property-holding and rental entities;
  • Review transactions, identify discrepancies, and follow up on outstanding items;
  • Support month-end processes and prepare financial information for ownership;
  • Identify opportunities to improve bookkeeping processes, systems, and internal controls;
  • Provide practical financial insight and flag potential issues to ownership;
  • Prepare and file sales tax, GST, and payroll remittances;
  • Support year-end preparation and work alongside external accountants as required.

Requirements

What You Will Bring:

  • Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field;
  • 5 to 7 years of progressive bookkeeping experience;
  • Confidence using accounting software (QuickBooks) and learning new systems;
  • Excellent reconciliation and financial recordkeeping skills;
  • Experience working with multiple companies, entities, or sets of books;
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy;
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills;
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership;
  • Strong discretion when handling confidential financial information;
  • A professional, practical, and solutions-focused approach;
  • Knowledge of GAAP, payroll processes, and tax regulations;
  • Valid driver’s license, for occasional travel to resort.

Assets include:

  • Experience with property management, hospitality, tourism, or rental properties;
  • Experience working directly with business owners or entrepreneurs;
  • Experience improving bookkeeping processes and systems;
  • Formal accounting education or designation such as a CPA.

You're Someone Who:

  • Takes pride in getting the details right;
  • Notices when something doesn't look right and investigates;
  • Is highly trustworthy, organized, and accountable;
  • Enjoys being hands-on with the day-to-day work;
  • Can confidently manage multiple priorities and sets of books;
  • Looks for ways to make processes more efficient and reliable;
  • Is comfortable working independently while communicating openly with ownership.

Benefits

Why this Role?

  • Work from home in the Kelowna area, with flexible hours around workload and month-end;
  • Real ownership of the bookkeeping function, with the chance to modernize its processes and systems;
  • Variety: several companies and property entities, not one set of books;
  • Resort visits with travel and mileage covered and company cabin accommodation available;
  • $32–$35 per hour, based on experience;
  • The opportunity to improve and modernize financial processes.

If you're an experienced bookkeeper looking for flexibility, autonomy, variety, and the opportunity to make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you!
