Clinical Technology Product Owner – FHIR / Interoperability
Position: Clinical Technology Product Owner – Interoperability
Openings: 3 Onshore Positions
Experience: 5–7+ years Rate: $65/hr on w2
Location: 100% Remote Role Overview Healthcare is seeking Clinical Technology Product Owners to drive delivery of healthcare interoperability capabilities enabling bidirectional clinical data exchange between payers and providers. The role sits at the intersection of FHIR interoperability, API/integration technology, healthcare clinical workflows, and provider/EHR systems. The Product Owner will translate product strategy into execution and work closely with Product, Engineering, Business, and external stakeholders. Basic Requirements
  • FHIR / Interoperability experience with API development, preferably involving:
    • Clinical data
    • Prior Authorization
    • Population Health
  • OR strong Technical Product Owner / Product Owner / Lead BA who is trainable on FHIR
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • Background as a Product Owner, Lead Business Analyst, Product Manager, Delivery Manager, or similar
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
Key Responsibilities
  • Own and manage the product/team backlog.
  • Translate Product Manager priorities into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and testable requirements.
  • Manage cross-team and system dependencies and identify delivery risks.
  • Track delivery, adoption, and system-performance metrics.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between delivery, integration, engineering, product, and external stakeholders.
  • Drive Agile execution, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Support delivery of APIs, integration services, FHIR-aligned data exchange models, and platform capabilities.
  • Partner closely with Engineering on technical design and execution.
  • Understand EHR/provider integration patterns, API consumption, version compatibility, and data-exchange constraints.
  • Identify integration gaps and define work required to support provider adoption.
  • Partner with Product Managers to align the backlog with product strategy, OKRs, sequencing, and technical feasibility.
Required Qualifications
  • 5–7+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst, or similar role.
  • Experience delivering API-based, integration-driven, or data-platform products.
  • Strong ability to translate business and technical requirements into structured, testable requirements.
  • Experience working closely with Engineering teams through end-to-end feature delivery.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Healthcare payer or provider experience.
  • Experience with clinical workflows, EHRs, or provider systems.
  • Experience with external integrations and partner onboarding.
  • Understanding of API design, versioning, and integration challenges.
  • Experience or familiarity with FHIR and healthcare interoperability standards.
  • Experience with clinical data, prior authorization, or population health.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong relationship-management skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate with senior leaders and identify opportunities for technology solutions.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
