Job description

JOB PURPOSE
The Business Manager, Emerging Pureplay & Digital Commerce Strategy is responsible for accelerating profitable growth across Unilever Home Care's Emerging Pureplay customer portfolio while leading digital commerce analytics, insights, and strategic planning capabilities for the Amazon homecare business.
This role serves as the commercial leader for key Emerging Pureplay customers, translating category, customer, and digital commerce strategies into growth plans that deliver consumption, market share, profitability, and brand penetration. At the same time, this role elevates the analytical capabilities of the organization through customer and category insights, competitive intelligence, forecasting support, and strategic recommendations that unlock growth opportunities across the EPP and Amazon platforms.
As part of the Home Care Digital Commerce team, this role combines customer ownership with category thought leadership, requiring a highly strategic leader who can connect data, insights, media, assortment, and commercial execution to drive sustainable growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Emerging Pureplay Business Leadership
• Own customer relationships, Joint Business Planning, and commercial performance across Emerging Pureplay accounts, including Grove, Thrive Market, iHerb, and future strategic customers.
• Deliver annual turnover, consumption, market share, trade investment, and profitability objectives.
• Lead customer negotiations, promotional planning, assortment expansion, innovation launches, and everyday growth initiatives.
• Partner with Customer Strategy & Planning, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to develop and execute customer growth plans.
• Identify new opportunities to increase digital penetration, recruit new consumers, and drive category growth within Pureplay channels.
Digital Commerce Analytics & Strategy
• Serve as the team's category and analytics lead, transforming data into action-oriented recommendations that unlock growth opportunities.
• Lead competitive intelligence, partner with agencies for share analysis, pricing and promotion assessments, category reviews, and market trend analyses.
• Develop strategic POVs on customer performance, assortment opportunities, media effectiveness, and emerging digital commerce trends.
• Partner with agency, retail media, and internal stakeholders to evaluate business performance and recommend optimization opportunities.

Category Growth & Customer Development
• Develop customer strategies grounded in shopper insights, category growth management principles, and Net Revenue Management.
• Translate insights into actionable plans that improve conversion, basket size, loyalty, repeat purchase, and market share.
• Own Amazon order and management and validation process along with internal systems maintenance and updates.
• Identify and test innovative growth levers through media, content, subscription programs, and emerging digital capabilities.

Cross-Functional Leadership
• Act as a commercial integrator across Sales, Marketing, Retail Media, Customer Strategy & Planning, Finance, and Supply Chain.
• Help shape future ways of working that increase efficiency while elevating strategic focus across the organization.
• Share best practices and build organizational capability in digital commerce, analytics, customer development, and category growth.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement through data-driven decision making and test-and-learn methodologies.

CRITICAL SUCCESS MEASURES
• Delivery of Emerging Pureplay turnover, consumption, share, and profitability objectives.
• Increased digital penetration and customer growth across Emerging Pureplay channels.
• Strong forecast accuracy and business planning discipline.
• Category-leading customer strategies informed by data and shopper insights.
• Identification and execution of incremental growth opportunities through analytics and strategic recommendations.
• Improved decision quality through competitive intelligence, business insights, and performance reporting.
• Strong cross-functional partnership and execution excellence.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Typically, 5+ years of experience in Digital Commerce, Sales, Customer Development, Category Management, Business Analytics, Marketing, or related commercial roles.
• Experience managing customer relationships and delivering commercial growth outcomes.
• Strong analytical capabilities with experience in consumption data, customer reporting, market share analysis, and forecasting.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear business recommendations and growth strategies.
• Experience working cross-functionally across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Digital Commerce organizations.
• Strong communication, influence, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, business intelligence tools, and digital commerce analytics platforms.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $88,600 to $120,000. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs. 

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible. 

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
