Job description

Join Aya Healthcare, winner of multiple Top Workplace awards!

Aya Healthcare is building the Aya Performance System, a practical approach to improving how work gets done across the company. APS brings together business process improvement, operational measurement, technology enablement, and change management to help teams solve meaningful business problems and sustain better outcomes.

We are seeking an APS Consultant to work closely with the APS Director and business leaders across Aya. The initial focus will be improving the processes that support Fulfillment, Sales, Recruiting, and client service—including how work moves between teams, how decisions are made, and how technology and operational workflows support business outcomes.

This person will help identify and define operational problems, facilitate discovery with frontline teams, map current- and future-state processes, evaluate solution options, and support implementation and measurement. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in ambiguity, engaging directly with frontline employees and business leaders, translating complex problems into clear recommendations, and moving work from insight to action. Experience improving sales, recruiting, staffing, fulfillment, or client-support processes is especially valuable.

This is an initial temporary assignment with the potential to convert to a regular full-time position based on business needs, performance, and mutual fit. The initial assignment is expected to last approximately 9 months.

Who We Are:

We’re an $8+ billion, rapidly growing workforce solutions provider in the healthcare industry. We deliver tech-enabled services that help healthcare organizations meet and manage their contingent labor needs. We build and manage tech-enabled marketplaces for national and local healthcare talent and deliver contingent labor management solutions through our proprietary software platform.

At Aya, we’re obsessed with creating exceptional experiences for our clients, clinicians, and employees. In fact, we put employee satisfaction above all else. Our team members are responsible for incomparable customer experience and we know that happy employees are critical to maintaining happy clients. We foster an entrepreneurial, high-energy, low-bureaucracy culture and value innovative thinking and creative problem solving. We embrace diversity in thought and backgrounds unified by a commitment to high achievement. When you join Aya, you’ll be surrounded by teammates who care about you as an individual and leaders who will help you grow both personally and professionally.

 Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the APS Director and business leaders to identify opportunities to improve Fulfillment, Sales, Recruiting, client service, productivity, quality, cost, and operational performance.
  • Conduct structured discovery with frontline employees, recruiters, sales and account-management teams, managers, subject-matter experts, and technology partners.
  • Translate observations, process data, and stakeholder feedback into clear problem statements, opportunity areas, hypotheses, and measurable outcomes.
  • Map current-state workflows and identify bottlenecks, handoff issues, rework, unnecessary variation, and opportunities for automation or standardization.
  • Develop and compare future-state process recommendations, including process changes, training, configuration, low-code tools, reporting, automation, and custom technology.
  • Facilitate working sessions, interviews, workshops, and decision-making forums; build alignment across teams with different perspectives and priorities.
  • Build lightweight business cases and value hypotheses, including key assumptions, expected benefits, risks, dependencies, and implementation considerations.
  • Partner with Product, Technology, Business Intelligence, Finance, and Operations to pilot, implement, adopt, and measure improvements.
  • Document findings and recommendations in clear, executive-ready formats, including process maps, opportunity assessments, decision documents, and implementation plans.
  • Help develop repeatable APS methods, templates, and playbooks that can be used across future improvement efforts.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in business process improvement, operational excellence, transformation, management consulting, or a related field.
  • Experience improving complex, cross-functional processes in a service, sales, transactional, staffing, or technology-enabled business.
  • Experience improving processes that involve multiple teams, handoffs, systems, or decision points.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct discovery with frontline users and convert qualitative and quantitative input into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong process-mapping, facilitation, workshop-design, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to distinguish the underlying business problem from a proposed solution.
  • Comfort evaluating build, buy, configure, process, training, and manual-workaround options.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with operational data in Excel or similar tools.
  • Ability to create clear business cases, value hypotheses, executive summaries, and implementation plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to facilitate conversations with senior leaders and frontline employees.
  • Strong judgment, intellectual curiosity, and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Ability to work independently while staying closely aligned with the APS Director and partner teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with process improvement and optimization methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, or similar.
  • Experience working in healthcare staffing, sales, recruiting, or other operationally complex environments.
  • Experience with BI, low-code tools, workflow platforms, or enterprise technology teams.
  • Experience designing and measuring pilots or controlled process changes.
  • Experience improving fulfillment, recruiting, staffing, account-management, client-service, or sales-support processes.
