Position Overview

Reports to: VP Product Marketing

We’re looking for a visionary, enterprise-grade product marketing leader to own and elevate how Workiva’s platform—and the AI capabilities built into it—is positioned, messaged, and brought to market across the business.

As Senior Director of Product Marketing, Platform, you will sit at the center of product innovation, corporate narrative, and technical credibility. Reporting to the VP of Product Marketing and partnering closely with peer leaders across the product and solutions marketing team, you’ll lead a team spanning corporate messaging, AI positioning, platform capabilities, technical product marketing and launch operations —translating a fast-moving platform roadmap into the foundational story that underpins every solution Workiva sells. This is more than a leadership role, it’s an opportunity to define the narrative for an emerging category at the intersection of platform, AI, and trust, while building and leading a world-class team.

What You’ll Do

Define the Platform Narrative

• Craft bold, differentiated positioning that elevates Workiva’s platform and AI capabilities as the trusted foundation for finance, risk, and sustainability
• Partner with peer leaders across Portfolio and Solutions Marketing to ensure the platform story reinforces—and is reinforced by—the broader Workiva narrative
• Serve as a thought leader internally and externally, guiding messaging across campaigns, content, events, and executive storytelling
• Ensure platform capabilities—data foundation, workflow, controls, reporting, and extensibility—are represented consistently across all go-to-market content

Drive Workiva AI Positioning

• Own the team’s approach to positioning Workiva’s AI capabilities, ensuring messaging is credible, differentiated, and grounded in real customer value
• Partner deeply with Product Management and AI/ML leadership to bring platform innovation to market with clarity and momentum

Bring the Platform to Life

• Build a technical product marketing function, turning platform and AI capabilities into vivid, credible use cases that show buyers exactly how the technology works in practice
• Hire and guide the team in building high-impact demo content—live demos, recorded walkthroughs, and interactive experiences—for events, sales, and the website
• Partner with video, web, and events teams to ensure platform capabilities show up compellingly across keynotes, product videos, and workiva.com

Drive How We Bring New Innovation to the Market

• Partner with the product organization on alignment and execution of our launch process
• Work across marketing and enablement to plan how we bring innovations to the market
• Oversee the execution of our market launches

Be the Voice of the Market

• Bring deep customer, buyer, and competitive insights into the business to inform platform strategy and roadmap direction
• Anticipate market shifts driven by AI and evolving buyer expectations, and position Workiva’s platform to lead

Lead and Scale a High-Performing Team

• Build and inspire a world-class team of product marketers covering corporate messaging, AI, platform capabilities, and technical product marketing
• Recruit and develop top-tier talent, fostering a culture of strategic thinking, accountability, and continuous growth
• Elevate the role and influence of platform product marketing across the organization

What You’ll Need

Minimum Qualifications

• 12+ years in product marketing, including 5+ years leading high-performing teams 
• Undergraduate degree

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven expertise in enterprise B2B SaaS platform strategy, positioning, and messaging
• Ability to translate complex, technical innovation—specifically AI and platform architecture—into compelling, differentiated value
• Exceptional communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and align cross-functional leaders
• Strong partnership skills across product management, marketing, and sales leadership
• Demonstrated success driving sales enablement and revenue impact
• Exceptional communication and storytelling skills

Travel Requirements & Working Conditions

• Location: Flexible/Remote
• Up to 25% travel
• Reliable internet access for any period working remotely, not in a Workiva office
