UW MEDICINE IT SERVICES has an outstanding job opportunity for a Manager of IT Strategic Planning & Governance position.
WORK SCHEDULE
· 100% FTE – 40 hours per week
· Day Shift – UW MEDICINE ITS SERVICES CORE HOURS ARE 08:00 – 17:00 (PST), Monday-Friday
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Manager of IT Strategic Planning & Governance leads the enterprise IT Strategic Planning & Governance team that ensures technology investments are aligned to organizational priorities and facilitates the overall intake process from planning to scheduling projects. This role is responsible for:
· Establishing and maturing governance operating models
· Intake and prioritization processes, portfolio planning practices
· Executive decision support capabilities across UW Medicine IT and business stakeholders
The Manager serves as a trusted advisor to executives, operational leaders, and cross-functional teams. This individual leads governance process improvements and manages a team responsible for governance operations, reporting, and portfolio support. The role requires strong executive presence, organizational influence, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments across healthcare, technology, and operational domains.
REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience
6+ years’ experience must include the following:
o 6+ years progressive, relevant experience related to IT Governance, Portfolio Management, Operational Excellence, Strategic development and/or major business analysis within an environment with established project management delivery standards
o 4+ years’ experience leading, managing, and coaching technology and/or business professionals
o Demonstrated management and leadership capabilities with proven ability to influence in matrix environment
o Proven ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and provide guidance and leadership to staff
o Progressive, relevant experience related to IT strategic planning, portfolio, Program, Project management
o Prior experience developing and implementing project management standards and processes
o Prior experience delivering services to senior customer representatives
o Prior experience with responsibility developing and continuously improving processes in support of quality and/or throughput initiatives
o Prior experience in a role with significant customer service component
