Job description

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Engineer for a contract position with a Leading Pharmacy Benefit Manager located in Eagan, MN. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

Compensation: $66.00 - $69.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications

Position Overview:

This role will design, build, test, and support data integrations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data engineering, particularly within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem, to develop robust data pipelines and ensure data governance principles are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, test, and support data integrations
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines using Python and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services
  • Optimize and manage GCP BigQuery, including query optimization, partitioning, clustering, and data modeling
  • Implement data quality validation, testing, and monitoring
  • Utilize Apache Airflow (Cloud Composer) for workflow orchestration
  • Automate and script tasks using Bash/Shell

Primary Requirements:

  • 8-10+ years of experience in Data Engineering
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Proven experience in data pipeline development and an understanding of data governance principles
  • Proficiency with GCP BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Composer (Apache Airflow)
  • Strong programming skills in Python for data engineering
  • Advanced SQL skills, including window functions and CTEs
  • Experience with Git for version control
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL/ELT patterns
  • Experience with performance optimization, query tuning, and cost optimization

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Dataflow (Apache Beam) for streaming/batch processing
  • Knowledge of Pub/Sub for event-driven architecture and message queuing
  • Familiarity with Cloud Functions for serverless data processing
  • Experience with real-time processing and streaming analytics
  • PBM or general Healthcare industry experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
