Role Overview

The Network Platform Architect & Product Engineer will serve as the lead technical specialist for Routing, Switching, Network Security, and Network Automation across the S+ Digital Programme.

The role will be responsible for designing, engineering, and validating scalable network architectures across LAN, WAN, Data Centre, Cloud, and Industrial environments, while ensuring high standards of security, resilience, performance, and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities & Technical Skills

• Design and architect scalable LAN, WAN, Data Centre, Cloud, and Industrial Network solutions.
• Provide strong expertise in Routing & Switching, including BGP, OSPF, QoS, Multicast, SD-WAN, and Network Segmentation.
• Design secure network architectures incorporating Zero Trust, Firewalls, NAC, 802.1X, AAA, and other network security controls.
• Develop and implement Network Automation solutions using Python, Ansible, Terraform, APIs, and CI/CD frameworks.
• Create and maintain HLDs, LLDs, implementation standards, automation artefacts, configuration standards, and operational runbooks.
• Lead first implementations, technical validation, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex network issues.
• Support the transition and handover of solutions to operations and support teams.
• Work across enterprise, cloud, Data Centre, and industrial network environments.
• Apply security and architecture principles aligned with NIST, ISO 27001, and IEC 62443.
• Drive architecture governance, technology roadmaps, technical standards, and multi-vendor network transformation initiatives.
• Collaborate with architecture, security, engineering, operations, and programme stakeholders to ensure consistent technical standards and successful delivery.

• CCIE / CCNP Enterprise
• JNCIE
• CISSP
• PCNSE
• Terraform Associate
• Or equivalent industry-recognised certifications

Experience

• 12+ years of overall networking experience, with strong experience in network architecture and engineering.
• Proven experience in Routing, Switching, Network Security, and Network Automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise-scale and multi-vendor network environments.
• Experience designing and delivering complex network transformation projects.
• Strong architecture documentation and technical leadership experience.
