Job Summary: 

ZelTech is seeking a Senior Business Operations & Acquisition Specialist (on call) with extensive experience supporting U.S. Government operations, including facilities support, audit readiness, and safety inspection processes. The ideal candidate will bring in-depth knowledge of SCIF requirements and protocol and will be able to operate effectively in a classified environment supporting technical programs and prototype development.

This role requires an individual with a technical/engineering background and proven experience managing the resources, contracting support, and acquisition actions required to sustain and advance complex technical initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Acquisition & Business Operations Support 

• Support acquisition planning and execution activities in alignment with program needs and government requirements. 
• Coordinate business operations tasks that enable technical program progress, including milestone support and resource planning.
• Maintain documentation and supporting artifacts necessary for acquisition and operational readiness.

Facilities Support & Operational Compliance

• Manage and coordinate facilities support functions to ensure continuity of operations for assigned programs and teams.
• Support compliance efforts across facilities and operational requirements, including scheduling and coordination with stakeholders.

Audit Readiness & Safety Inspections

• Prepare for, support, and respond to audits and safety inspections by tracking requirements, evidence, and corrective actions.
• Ensure that facilities and operational practices meet applicable safety and compliance standards.
• Support root-cause analysis and corrective action processes to improve long-term compliance.

SCIF Compliance & Classified Operations

• Operate in a SCIF environment consistent with security rules and protocol.
• Provide subject-matter support regarding SCIF compliance requirements, access/procedural requirements, and operational expectations.
• Assist with ensuring personnel, processes, and coordination support secure and compartmented operations.

Prototype Development Resource Support

• Translate prototype program needs into actionable requirements and resourcing inputs (e.g., facility needs, test readiness support, logistics, and procurement support considerations).
• Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to ensure technical programs have the resources required to execute prototype development activities.

Location / Work Environment:

• Classified environment work required (SCIF operations).
• Work will involve interaction with government customers, contractors, and internal program stakeholders in support of technical and facilities operations.

Competencies / Skills:

• Strong understanding of government processes and compliance requirements.
• Ability to operate with discretion and professionalism in classified environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with senior government leadership.
• Detail-oriented documentation and evidence management for audits and inspections.
• Technical curiosity and ability to connect engineering/prototype needs to business operations and resourcing.

Requirements:

• Must be a US citizen.
• Must have an active TS/SCI with CI Poly.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical field, business, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience) and twenty (20) + years of relevant experience.
• Successful background and drug screening check.

Government /DoD Experience

• Experience working with the Government and/or served as a Government civilian at GS-14 level or above, or equivalent operational experience supporting senior-level government activities. 

Facilities Support Expertise:

• Extensive experience with Government facilities supports processes, including work coordination, tracking, and compliance requirements. 

• Audit & Safety Inspection Experience: Demonstrated, in-depth experience supporting or managing audits, safety inspections, and related compliance activities for government or government-adjacent facilities/operations.

Classified Environment (SCIF).

• Proven experience working in a classified environment.
• In-depth knowledge of SCIF requirements, security controls, and SCIF access/protocol (e.g., visitor/escort requirements, handling procedures, badge/access processes, compartmented area operations).

Technical/Engineering Background:

• Formal education or hands-on experience in an engineering or technical discipline.

Prototype & Program Resources:

• Strong understanding of prototype development lifecycle and the resources required (e.g., planning inputs, procurement support, facility/utility’s needs, test readiness requirements, and sustainment considerations).

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience supporting technical program offices or IC mission partners requiring rapid prototyping and iterative engineering support.
• Familiarity with government acquisition practices such as planning, contracting support, and administrative coordination (e.g., acquisition workflows, requirements development support, and documentation control). 
• Experience with risk management, compliance tracking, and continuous improvement in regulated environments
