Job description

Our client, Incisive, is growing again!

About Incisive

Incisive is building a better model for restorative dentistry. Independent practices are under pressure: lab consolidation is accelerating, digital dentistry has arrived, but most practices are only halfway there, and building a complete workflow alone is expensive, slow, and isolating.

We solve that through one partnership: curated labs matched to specific case types, no-cost digital equipment, a portal to track every case and manage every invoice in one place, and a clinical support team to help. More than 650 doctors nationwide trust us, we retain over 95% of them year over year, and we're growing fast. If you have high standards and want to do work that compounds, you'll fit right in.

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Accountant to own our end-to-end accounting function as we scale. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who wants to build (and eventually lead) the accounting engine of a hypergrowth early-stage technology company. You'll report directly to the VP of Finance and will play a foundational role in establishing scalable processes, driving a clean and timely monthly close, and leading our external audit.

As we grow, this role has a clear path to managing a team of Staff Accountants and Billing Specialists — making it a great opportunity for someone ready to grow into a people-management role while staying close to the numbers.

What You'll Do

  • Own the end-to-end accounting function, including general ledger management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals and invoicing.
  • Lead and manage the monthly close process end-to-end, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account and bank reconciliations, and update supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for our annual financial statement audit, managing auditor requests and ensuring a smooth, well-organized process.
  • Maintain and continuously improve our accounting policies and internal controls as the business grows.
  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online.
  • Partner with the VP of Finance on technical accounting matters (revenue recognition, equity/stock-based compensation, capitalization and amortization, etc.).
  • Support sales tax compliance and help evaluate/implement automation tools as our footprint expands.
  • Help design and implement scalable processes and systems to support continued rapid growth.

Must-Haves

  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including time at a startup or high-growth early-stage company.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with QuickBooks Online.
  • Proven experience owning a monthly close process end-to-end, from initiation to reporting.
  • Experience leading or heavily supporting a financial statement audit (managing auditor relationships and requests).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting fundamentals.
  • Excellent organizational skills and comfort operating in a fast-paced environment while improving processes and procedures.
  • Experience with hardware and fixed asset schedules.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, and Engineering teams.
  • Excellent analytical skills, used to solving problems in Excel with large data sets.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Familiarity with Ramp or similar expense management platforms.
  • Familiarity with Stripe or similar billing/payment processing platforms.
  • Experience with sales tax automation software such as Avalara, Anrok, or Numeral.
  • CPA or CPA candidate.
  • Experience with a SaaS or subscription-based revenue model.
  • Prior experience managing or mentoring junior accounting staff.
  • Some FP&A experience, supporting management with various analytical projects.

What Success Looks Like

  • A monthly close process that becomes progressively faster, cleaner, and more automated.
  • A smooth, well-prepared annual audit with minimal surprises.
  • Scalable accounting processes and controls that can support the company's growth trajectory.
  • A trusted right-hand to the VP of Finance who can eventually lead a small accounting team.

What You'll Love

  • Competitive compensation: base salary plus target bonus and stock options.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • Unlimited paid time off.
  • 401(k) plan with company match.
  • Work remotely within the US.
  • Small, fast-growing team where your work has visible, immediate impact.
