Job Summary

The Senior Director, Digital Workplace is accountable for the success, growth, and strategic direction of SHI's Digital Workplace organization within Microsoft Services. This leadership role brings together Collaboration, Workplace Platform, and Change Management under a single leader to ensure workplace technology, user adoption, and business outcomes are designed, delivered, and measured as one connected experience rather than as separate service lines.

This role leads the organization as a business, with ownership of service maturity, solution development, headcount planning, utilization, delivery quality, capacity, pipeline support, and measurable client outcomes across collaboration platforms, workplace modernization, identity and endpoint services, migrations, adoption, and organizational change. The Senior Director manages a team of managers and practice leaders responsible for Collaboration, Workplace Platform, and Change Management and remains accountable for their effectiveness, development, and delivery performance.

Aligned to Microsoft's Work IQ investments, this role connects how employees communicate, collaborate, access information, use workplace technology, and adopt new ways of working. The Senior Director ensures SHI helps clients deploy, secure, adopt, and realize value from Microsoft 365, Copilot, collaboration, identity, and endpoint capabilities across the full digital employee lifecycle.

This role sits at the center of SHI's Microsoft Services growth plan, turning Work IQ alignment into a working operating model that builds stronger solutions, improves delivery execution, develops talent, increases adoption, and creates repeatable paths for growth.

This is a remote position with a Home Office setup based in New York City, Charlotte, Chicago, Atlanta, Austin, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Seattle.

Role Description

Strategic Leadership and Practice Development

  • Set and execute a unified direction for Digital Workplace, connecting Collaboration, Workplace Platform, and Change Management through one operating model.

  • Translate Microsoft's Work IQ, Microsoft 365, Copilot, identity, endpoint, and employee experience investments into a clear SHI services roadmap, capability plan, and investment agenda.

  • Establish clear ownership, decision rights, handoffs, delivery standards, and quality expectations across the organization.

  • Build modular, repeatable offerings that connect workplace technology, secure access, employee adoption, and value realization around defined client outcomes.

  • Use portfolio, pipeline, delivery, adoption, and capacity data to prioritize investments, manage tradeoffs, and improve practice health.

People Leadership Through Managers and Directors

  • Lead, coach, and develop the leaders responsible for Collaboration, Workplace Platform, and Change Management.

  • Set measurable expectations for customer experience, delivery quality, utilization, capability development, financial performance, adoption outcomes, and team health.

  • Build leadership depth through regular one-on-ones, development planning, succession planning, and clear career paths.

  • Own workforce planning across the organization, including hiring, onboarding, retention, skills development, and capacity alignment to backlog and pipeline.

  • Create a culture of shared accountability in which technical and change teams solve for the full customer outcome rather than optimize separate workstreams.

Technical Direction Across Workplace Technology, Change, and Security

  • Maintain a platform-aware perspective across Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Power Platform, Microsoft 365 Copilot, tenant migrations, identity modernization, Microsoft Intune, Windows 365, endpoint experience, and change enablement.

  • Guide the integration of Microsoft Entra, Conditional Access, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, and Defender for Office 365 into workplace solutions that protect users, devices, identities, messaging, and collaboration.

  • Ensure workplace solutions address user experience, accessibility, security, compliance, operational readiness, communications, training, adoption, and value realization from the beginning.

  • Sponsor reusable reference architectures, delivery frameworks, statements of work, work breakdown structures, migration patterns, adoption methods, templates, and accelerators.

  • Rely on practice leaders and principal architects for deep technical and change leadership while maintaining alignment across disciplines.

Delivery Excellence and Client Outcomes

  • Provide executive oversight for complex, multi-workstream engagements that span collaboration, tenant migrations, identity, endpoint, security, adoption, and change management.

  • Hold leaders accountable for scope quality, staffing readiness, delivery methodology, risk management, timelines, budgets, customer communication, and adoption outcomes.

  • Review project health, utilization, realization, margin, capacity, quality, adoption, and customer experience signals and act early when performance moves off plan.

  • Protect customer trust by ensuring teams make supportable commitments, manage business disruption, address security dependencies, and prepare customers to operate successfully after delivery.

  • Serve as an executive sponsor and trusted advisor for strategic clients, connecting workplace investments to employee productivity, business readiness, and measurable value.

Business Growth and Market Development

  • Grow Digital Workplace services revenue by improving solution relevance, supporting strategic pursuits, expanding enterprise client relationships, and developing repeatable offers.

  • Partner with Solution Architecture, Sales, Project Management, AI + Infrastructure, and Managed Services to shape opportunities and deliver connected customer outcomes.

  • Manage utilization, capacity, backlog, pipeline health, and delivery performance to improve profitability and support sustainable growth.

  • Build strong relationships with Microsoft field, engineering, and partner teams to align priorities, improve co-sell execution, and strengthen SHI's market credibility in Work IQ and Digital Workplace.

  • Capture customer evidence, references, adoption results, and measurable outcomes that support retention, expansion, and market recognition.

Executive and Cross-Functional Communication

  • Serve as an executive advisor to enterprise clients, connecting business priorities to Microsoft workplace, collaboration, identity, endpoint, Copilot, and change strategies.

  • Communicate practice priorities, portfolio health, performance, risks, and investment needs to senior leadership, including the Vice President, Microsoft Services.

  • Run a consistent operating cadence across leaders that covers pipeline, staffing, project health, financial performance, capability development, customer experience, and adoption outcomes.

  • Turn operating data and customer feedback into decisions and actions rather than reporting activity without accountability.

  • Escalate delivery, capacity, security, adoption, and customer risks early, with clear options and recommended actions.
