BenefitPoint Training & Content Specialist – Employee Benefits | 2-Year Contract

Location: Remote (Travel as Needed)
Employment Type: Temporary Contract Assignment – Approximately 2 Years
Compensation: $60.00–$75.00 per hour

Overview

Join Alera Group's Transformation Office and help shape the future of how our Employee Benefits teams work. This is a temporary, project-based contract opportunity expected to last approximately two years, supporting a large-scale enterprise transformation initiative.

As a BenefitPoint Training & Content Specialist – Employee Benefits, you'll create the training materials, process documentation, and user resources that support BenefitPoint and related EB tools and business processes. You'll help translate new workflows and system functionality into practical resources that enable colleagues to confidently adopt new systems, standardized processes, and new ways of working.

The role will partner closely with operations leaders, subject matter experts, configuration analysts, and implementation teams throughout the transformation.

  • Develop and maintain BenefitPoint training materials, including user guides, job aids, quick reference guides, and other learning resources.
  • Create SOPs, process maps, workflow documentation, and user-friendly instructions supporting enterprise EB processes.
  • Translate business requirements and complex system functionality into clear, practical content for colleagues.
  • Partner with configuration analysts and subject matter experts to document system changes and evolving workflows.
  • Support BenefitPoint implementations, conversions, upgrades, and adoption activities.
  • Maintain the BenefitPoint and supporting tools learning library, including content governance and version control.
  • Update training and process documentation as system functionality and business processes evolve.
  • Help drive consistent workflows and standardized practices across Employee Benefits teams.
Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of content development experience
  • 3+ years of experience delivering technical training
  • Strong understanding of Employee Benefits insurance operations
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Experience creating training materials using Microsoft Office and learning technologies
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for different audiences

Preferred

  • Hands-on experience with Vertafore BenefitPoint and Employee Benefits workflows
  • Experience creating SOPs, process maps, job aids, system documentation, and training content
  • Experience supporting BenefitPoint implementations, conversions, upgrades, or enterprise transformation initiatives
  • Knowledge of adult learning, change management, and user adoption practices
  • Experience partnering with operations, technology, configuration, and implementation teams

Compensation

The anticipated hourly rate for this contract position is $60.00–$75.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and relevant expertise.

Additional Information:

Work Environment

This is a full-time, temporary contract position expected to last approximately two years. The role is primarily remote, with occasional travel to Alera Group offices or project locations as needed. The underlying JD specifically anticipates travel to offices and/or off-site meetings.

This is a project-based assignment supporting Alera Group's enterprise transformation and the implementation and adoption of BenefitPoint and related Employee Benefits tools. Success in this role requires strong collaboration, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to create practical learning content that helps colleagues successfully navigate new systems, processes, and ways of working.
