Job description

As a Patient Identity Expert, you will research, validate, and update patient data within hospital information systems and ancillary applications as part of a Master Patient Index (MPI) Data Reconciliation Project. This critical role supports patient safety, data integrity, and healthcare compliance by ensuring the accuracy and consistency of patient records across multiple systems.

This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in Health Information Management (HIM). You will gain valuable experience working with healthcare data, patient identity management, and industry best practices while contributing to meaningful outcomes that improve the quality and safety of patient care.

Just Associates — Harris Data Integrity Solutions specializes in data integrity solutions for healthcare organizations. Their offerings include Intelligent MPI Triage, CuraMatch HIM Workflow Tool, and Epic Identity Queue Management, among others. 

This is a Per Diem, part-time position up to 25 hours per week.

Job Functions
• Collects designated information from hospital applications that affect merge planning and downstream tasks. 
• Performs merges of duplicate medical record numbers in designated applications, following a standard procedure. 
• Completes demographic updates to patient records as needed during the electronic merge processing. 
• Performs self-monitoring to ensure high quality work is maintained. 
• Collects daily productivity statistics and documents on appropriate forms if required. 
• Completes other data entry tasks as required. 
• Maintains accuracy of 98% or higher on Merge Planning. Maintains accuracy of 95% or higher on Electronic Verification. 
• Complies with client processes on projects and JA company policies. 
• Attends JA company staff meetings as scheduled/required. 


Required Skills and Knowledge
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Data entry skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work successfully and efficiently in a remote environment.
• Ability to meet deadlines on time sensitive projects.
• Strong computer skills.
• Must be able to demonstrate a high level of confidentiality to handle sensitive information.
• Strong organizational and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Ability to think independently.
• 1+ years of Health Information Management experience or education in this area.

What will make you stand out:

• 1+ years of medical terminology experience is preferred.
• Previous experience working within a medical facility is preferred.

Salary:
$17.75 per/hour
