Our Edge Platform team takes ownership for planning, building, maintaining and operating our global platform. We design, develop and deploy critical technologies including the hardware, software and network infrastructure that provide the technical underpinnings for all of Akamai's products. Our team ensures consistent availability and performance for our customers.

Partner with the best

The Network Support Consultant proactively monitors the Technical Operations of the Akamai's Network within EMEA territory. Ensure that we are utilizing our resources to their fullest extent in order to meet customer requirements. Traffic keep flowing and ensure value for our Network Partners in the geography.

As a Network Support Consultant, you will be responsible for:

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, Akamai's Network Partners and ISPs to troubleshoot and resolve network and performance issues
• Managing escalations from Service Performance, Network Account Managers, Network Operations and other groups
• Collaborating with team members and network architects on traffic optimization to identify enhancements and improvements
• Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of Internet infrastructure across the region

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 2+ years of experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and experience of application-level protocols and IP security
• Demonstrate knowledge of network protocols and implementations (DNS, TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, SSL), routing protocols (BGP and OSPF)
• Be comfortable with working in a Linux/Unix-like environment
• Be action-orientated and be able to identify areas for innovation and improvement
• Be CCNP or equivalent experience
