Job description

What success looks like in this role:

We are looking for a Wireless Subject Matter Expert with deep expertise in WLAN design, RF engineering, and enterprise wireless infrastructure, complemented by solid LAN/WAN knowledge and specialized Cisco skills. The role centers on designing, implementing, and managing modern, scalable wireless network environments while supporting high-availability systems across security and cloud-based architectures.

The ideal candidate holds a CWNA (Certified Wireless Network Administrator) and/or CCNP Enterprise Wireless certification and brings hands-on experience deploying and optimizing enterprise Wi-Fi solutions in critical 24x7 environments. They will serve as the go-to wireless authority for clients, internal teams, and global vendors — leading projects from assessment through delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Wireless Design & Deployment: Architect, implement, and optimize enterprise WLAN solutions including site surveys (passive/active/predictive), RF planning, AP placement, and controller configuration across Cisco and Cisco Meraki platforms.

  • Network Design & Support: Design and support broader network infrastructures (LAN, WAN, SD-WAN) with wireless as the primary domain. Provide both remote and on-site support ensuring high performance and security.

  • Troubleshooting & Optimization: Diagnose and resolve complex wireless issues including RF interference, roaming problems, coverage gaps, and client connectivity across all OSI layers. Collaborate with manufacturers for escalations.

  • Client Interaction: Lead client-facing engagements, delivering wireless assessments, RF reports, heatmaps, and project presentations. Act as the primary technical point of contact for wireless initiatives.

  • Project Execution: Drive wireless network and security projects in collaboration with global teams and vendors, ensuring successful delivery in mission-critical environments.

  • 4–6 years of experience in enterprise wireless networking, including design, deployment, and support.

Certifications (Required):

  • CWNA (Certified Wireless Network Administrator) — vendor-neutral wireless expertise

  • and/or CCNP/CCIE – Wireless.

Wireless & Networking Expertise:

  • Deep knowledge of 802.11 standards (Wi-Fi 5/Wi-Fi 6/6E), RF fundamentals, spectrum analysis, and wireless security protocols (WPA3, 802.1X/EAP, RADIUS).

  • Hands-on experience with Cisco WLC and Cisco Meraki wireless management.

  • Experience with wireless security frameworks including rogue detection, WIPS/WIDS, and guest network segmentation.


Technical Competencies:

  • Proficient in cloud and network management platforms: SolarWinds, ServiceNow, Infoblox, and similar tools.

  • Strong grasp of network monitoring, performance baselining, and wireless optimization techniques.

  • Familiarity with ITIL service management frameworks.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work in 24x7 critical environments, including on-call availability outside regular business hours and weekends.

  • Strong presentation and reporting skills, ability to communicate RF data, heatmaps, and wireless assessments to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field (Telecommunications, Computer Science, or equivalent).
