About the role

The Technology Finance Operations Specialist is responsible for the effective financial management and optimisation of SJGHC technology expenditure across cloud, on-premises infrastructure, software, SaaS, AI, licensing and managed services.

Working closely with technology and business stakeholders, the Technology Finance Operations Specialist will provide critical oversight of technology costs, improve financial transparency and reporting, and drive forecasting accuracy to support strategic decision-making. The position plays a key role in identifying cost optimisation opportunities, managing technology investment planning, and supporting asset lifecycle and contract renewal activities to ensure technology spending delivers maximum value, aligns with organisational objectives, and supports sustainable operational performance.

The role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 38 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse technology spend across cloud, infrastructure, software, SaaS, AI, licensing and managed services.

  • Develop and maintain financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting for technology expenditure.

  • Identify cost optimisation, savings and efficiency opportunities across technology services and assets.

  • Partner with Finance, Procurement and Technology teams to support strategic planning and investment decisions.

  • Analyse software, licensing and cloud utilisation to improve value, performance and compliance.

  • Support contract renewals, technology lifecycle management and vendor expenditure reviews.

  • Produce regular FinOps reporting, insights and recommendations to inform decision-making and manage financial risk.

  • Maintain accurate financial and licensing records while supporting continuous improvement in technology cost governance and controls.

Your skills and experience

You will bring proven experience in technology financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimisation across cloud and on-premises technology environments. With a strong understanding of infrastructure, software, SaaS, AI, licensing, and managed services expenditure, you will be confident analysing complex financial and utilisation data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improved efficiency and value.

Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS, together with an understanding of software licensing models and technology commercial frameworks, will be highly regarded.

Able to build strong relationships across Finance, Procurement, and Technology teams, you will have the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights and practical recommendations. Previous Health industry experience will be highly regarded
