Job description

➑️ About the role

Successful businesses think globally – but complex compliance challenges create significant barriers to global operations, forcing teams to spend vast amounts of time, money, and energy on administration instead of strategic priorities.

Traditional compliance approaches are too slow, vague, and expensive for modern business dynamics. That's why we've built the platform that automates compliance and duty of care for business travel, workations, and international assignments.

Our vision: A world where global business knows no borders – where compliance is effortless, so growth has no limits.

Your role in this mission: We're seeking a Junior Compliance Officer to join our specialized Compliance Tech team. In this role you will develop, maintain, and refine the automated compliance logic that powers our platform. That takes a blend of legal knowledge, analytical thinking, and a strong affinity for technology: you decode intricate international regulations and turn them into automated rules that deliver accurate, actionable assessments to our clients. The technology is your instrument, not your subject. You will not be reviewing tech law; you will be using decision logic, structured data and AI tooling to make employment, tax and social security law executable.

🎯 What you will do

  • Automate compliance logic. Build, maintain, and optimize legal rules in our platform to generate automated high-level compliance assessments.

  • Simplify complex regulations. Decode labour law, tax, social security, and data protection rules into clear, executable logic for tech implementation.

  • Optimize existing logic. Audit and refine automated rules for accuracy, simplicity, and granularity.

  • Global compliance vigilance. Monitor international regulatory changes and update our logic to keep it current.

  • Operational excellence. Maintain data banks, procedures, and documentation to support scalable operations.

  • Cross-functional collaboration. Partner with Tech, Product, and Ops teams to align logic with user needs.

  • Accountability. Own end-to-end task execution with proactive problem-solving in a dynamic startup environment.

⭐ What you need to succeed

  • 1–2 years of relevant legal experience, ideally in labour law, corporate or wage tax, social security, or data protection. A strong traineeship counts.

  • Fluency in English, written and spoken. German is a strong plus.

  • High attention to detail with zero tolerance for inaccuracies, paired with strong organizational and time management capabilities.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and a genuine affinity for technology, with ease in navigating new software and platforms. You do not need to be a programmer; you need to enjoy expressing rules precisely and learning the tools that run them.

  • Practical, honest use of AI tools: to accelerate research and drafting, and the discipline to verify everything they produce before it counts.

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to clarify complex requirements and respond to inquiries effectively.

  • A passion for working in multicultural, international teams, and an open-minded, flexible approach to integrating legal expertise with technology.

Where a comma matters

A distinction this role lives on: in a legal memo, an imprecise sentence gets a clarifying question. In executable logic, it gets executed. A misplaced comma turns one condition into two. A > where the rule says >= moves a day-count boundary and silently misclassifies every trip that lands on it. An β€œand” written where the regulation means β€œor” inverts an exemption for an entire country.

Our rules run against thousands of trips without a human in the loop, so the review happens before the rule ships, not after. We hold a zero-tolerance standard for inaccuracy: every rule traceable to its legal source, every change versioned, every edge case named. If you are the person who rereads the clause a third time because something felt half a degree off, this standard will feel like home rather than pressure.

The engineer’s discipline, applied to law. The precision expected here is the precision expected of a coding engineer: exact operators, exact thresholds, exact wording. Detail is not a soft skill in this team. It is the deliverable. It is also, plainly, what our hiring process is built to measure.
