Manages and implements programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and financial losses. Develops accident-prevention and loss-control systems and programs for incorporation into operational policies of organization. Manages and coordinates safety activities. Identifies and appraises conditions that could produce accidents and financial losses and evaluations potential extent of injuries resulting from accidents. Conducts research studies to identify hazards and evaluate loss producing potential of given system, operation or process. Devises methods to evaluate safety programs and conducts or directs evaluations. Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions. Administers policies and procedures, evaluates results and performance, and assists with development of new or modified strategic plans or policies. Ensures workplace safety is compliant with OSHA standards, DoD directives, and DCSA-specific policies. DCSA currently has 163 locations, for which the EHS Technician will be required to conduct safety requirements.
This position is part time with about 10 hours a week.
Responsibilities:This position is contingent upon contract funding. Applicants selected may be offered the job but cannot begin work until funding has been confirmed.
