JOB SUMMARY
The HRIS Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership, administration, governance, optimization, and continuous improvement of Baylor Genetics' Human Resource Information Systems and related HR technology platforms. This role serves as the primary owner of HR systems, workforce reporting, analytics, integrations, and process improvement initiatives, ensuring the integrity, security, and effectiveness of employee data and HR technology solutions.
The HRIS Manager partners closely with Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, Information Technology, and business leaders to drive operational excellence, enable data-driven decision-making, and support organizational growth through scalable HR technology solutions. This role leads workforce analytics, dashboard development, reporting, and process improvement initiatives utilizing UKG, Power BI, and other business intelligence tools. Experience with Power Automate, Tableau, and workflow automation platforms is preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Own the overall administration, governance, security, and optimization of Baylor Genetics' HR technology ecosystem.
• Manage UKG modules including Core HCM, Payroll, Timekeeping, Recruiting, Benefits, Performance Management, and Learning.
• Establish configuration standards, security protocols, workflow controls, and system governance practices.
• Lead system upgrades, release management, testing activities, and change management initiatives.
• Maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures, and audit controls.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment regulations as related to HR systems and data management.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance workforce dashboards and executive reporting utilizing Power BI and other business intelligence and data visualization tools.
• Create and deliver recurring and ad hoc reports for HR, executive leadership, Finance, and operational leaders.
• Monitor and analyze key workforce metrics, including headcount, turnover and retention, hiring effectiveness, time-to-fill, diversity metrics, compensation trends, and employee engagement indicators.
• Identify workforce trends and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Support Board, leadership, and operational reporting requirements through accurate workforce data and analytics.
• Develop executive-level workforce analytics and KPI dashboards to support strategic planning, organizational effectiveness, and business performance reviews.
• Identify, design, and implement process automation solutions that improve efficiency and reduce manual administrative effort. Experience with Microsoft Power Automate and similar workflow automation tools is preferred.
• Evaluate existing HR processes and identify opportunities for automation and optimization.
• Partner with HR Operations, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, and Total Rewards teams to improve system utilization and business processes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance employee and manager experiences across HR systems.
• Ensure integrity, accuracy, and consistency of employee and organizational data.
• Establish and enforce data governance standards and data quality controls.
• Support internal and external audit requests.
• Collaborate with Information Technology and Security teams to safeguard sensitive employee information.
• Manage integrations between HR systems and third-party platforms, including payroll, benefits vendors, ATS platforms, learning systems, and finance applications.
• Monitor integration performance and resolve system-related issues.
• Partner with external vendors to support implementation, upgrades, issue resolution, and system enhancements.
• Evaluate new HR technology solutions and make recommendations that align with organizational goals.
• Serve as the primary HRIS subject matter expert for the organization.
• Provide technical guidance and support to HR, Payroll, Finance, and business leaders.
• Lead HR technology initiatives and cross-functional projects.
• Develop and deliver user training related to HR systems, reporting, analytics, and best practices.
• Mentor HRIS analysts and support the development of HR technology capabilities across the HR team.
• Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making through effective reporting and workforce analytics.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field.
Experience
• 5-8+ years of progressive experience administering and optimizing HRIS platforms, preferably UKG Pro or similar HCM systems.
• Experience leading HRIS implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and integrations.
• Demonstrated experience managing workforce reporting, HR analytics, and business intelligence solutions.
• Experience supporting enterprise-level HR operations, payroll, benefits, talent acquisition, and employee lifecycle processes.
• Strong understanding of HR compliance requirements, data governance, security, and audit controls.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects and managing vendor relationships.
• Previous supervisory, project leadership, or team leadership experience preferred.
• Experience within healthcare, laboratory services, biotechnology, life sciences, or other regulated environments preferred.
• Experience developing workforce analytics dashboards and executive reporting for HR, Finance, and senior leadership teams preferred.
Technical Skills
• Advanced UKG Pro administration and configuration experience.
• Advanced Power BI dashboard development and workforce analytics capabilities.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including Power Query, pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data modeling.
• Experience with data integration tools, APIs, and file-based interfaces.
• Experience with HR technology ecosystems including ATS, payroll, benefits administration, learning management, and performance management platforms.
• Knowledge of SQL, database concepts, and data management practices preferred.
• Preferred experience building automated workflows using Microsoft Power Automate.
• Preferred experience with Tableau reporting and data visualization.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Location: Remote
• Physical demands for the job: Primarily sedentary work using a computer and standard office equipment for extended periods.
• Work environment required for the job duties: Remote office environment with collaboration across Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, Information Technology, business leaders, and external vendors.
• Travel Requirements: Approximately 10%
• Special conditions: Must be able to maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive employee information while supporting HR systems, reporting, analytics, and compliance requirements.
