Job description

Employment Attorney


Career Consulting Partners has partnered with an established firm with offices in five major commercial centers across California. They have been recognized by the LA Times as a "Top Law Firm," while their labor and employment department received a Top 25 ranking from the publication. We are seeking a 2 - 4 year attorney looking to build or continue building a career in labor and employment law. You will be working alongside experienced attorneys in a very collaborative and forward-thinking environment.


Duties:

  • Assist in all phases of litigation, including drafting pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and trial preparation materials.

  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on a variety of labor and employment law issues.

  • Support senior attorneys in fact investigations, witness interviews, and the development of case strategy.

  • Prepare responses to administrative charges and complaints before agencies such as the EEOC, DFEH/CRD, and DLSE.

  • Draft and review employment-related documents, including workplace policies, employee handbooks, and employment agreements.

  • Participate in client meetings and calls, providing updates and supporting ongoing client communications.

  • Monitor changes in labor and employment laws and draft client alerts or updates under supervision.

  • Collaborate closely with partners and associates in a team-oriented environment, with opportunities for training and mentorship.

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school

  • Member in good standing with the California Bar.

  • 2 - 4 years of attorney experience in CA Labor & Employment Law

  • Strong preference for Wage and Hour and FEHA, but open to all Employment Law Experience

  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • 1900 billable hours

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary range is between $150,000 and $180,000

  • Year-end discretionary bonus potential
