Construction Defect Attorney

Career Consulting Partners is proud to partner with an innovative, AI tech-forward litigation law firm representing property owners and plaintiffs in complex construction defect and property damage matters across California is seeking a Litigation Attorney. The firm is willing to train candidates with 2+ years of general civil litigation experience who want to transition into construction defect litigation. Leveraging advanced legal technology, the firm provides attorneys with modern tools to optimize case preparation, expert discovery, and litigation strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage litigation matters involving latent and patent construction defects, property damage, and real estate claims across California state courts.

  • Draft pleadings, law-and-motion submissions, discovery, and mediation briefs.

  • Work closely with architects, structural engineers, geotechnical experts, and contractors to evaluate building defects and establish liability.

  • Conduct and defend depositions of property owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, and technical experts.

  • Attend site inspections, court hearings, arbitrations, mandatory settlement conferences, mediations, and trials.

  • Utilize AI-driven software and digital tech tools to streamline document analysis, evidence organization, and legal research.

Requirements:

  • Active member with the State Bar of California.

  • 2+ years of general civil litigation experience. Prior construction defect background is a plus, but the firm is willing to fully train a strong litigator looking to transition into this practice area. First-chair trial experience is a major bonus.

  • Must currently reside in California with a quiet, dedicated home office suitable for virtual court hearings and remote depositions.

  • Enthusiasm for adopting AI legal tools and modern law firm technology to optimize legal processes.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary Range: $150,000 – $200,000 (Higher base salary available for candidates with verified first-chair trial experience or high settlement track record in this space).

  • Direct referral fee compensation on generated/referred cases (paid regardless of whether you actively work on the case).

  • Settlement bonuses on resolved matters.

  • Performance bonuses based on overall productivity and results.Year-end bonus structure.

  • Dental, Health, Life Insurance, PTO, Vision Insurance, 401k

  • Firm covers registration and membership fees for CLEs, seminars, legal organizations, etc.
