Medical Malpractice Attorney

Career Consulting Partners is proud to partner with an innovative, AI tech-forward litigation law firm representing clients in high-stakes medical malpractice matters across California is seeking a Medical Malpractice Litigation Attorney with 2 to 5 years of experience. The firm integrates modern legal technology to streamline document workflows and case analysis, empowering attorneys to focus on high-impact case strategy, expert engagement, and aggressive litigation advocacy.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a dynamic caseload of medical malpractice litigation across California state courts from intake evaluation through resolution or trial.

  • Draft pleadings, motions, Code of Civil Procedure Section 364 notices of intent, and government claims under Government Code Section 911.2.

  • Identify, retain, and prepare expert witnesses across diverse medical specialties to evaluate standards of care, causation, and catastrophic damages.

  • Conduct and defend depositions of plaintiffs, treating physicians, defense medical experts, and institutional/hospital representatives.

  • Leverage AI-assisted legal software and digital legal tech stacks to expedite record reviews, legal research, and trial prep.

  • Represent clients in court appearances, arbitrations, mandatory settlement conferences, mediations, and trials.

Requirements:

  • Active member with the State Bar of California.

  • 2 to 5 years of civil litigation experience, with direct focus on plaintiff-side medical malpractice or severe personal injury. First-chair trial experience is strongly preferred.

  • Firm understanding of California Code of Civil Procedure Section 340.5, MICRA provisions, medical record interpretation, and expert witness preparation.

  • Must currently reside in California with a quiet, dedicated home office suitable for virtual court hearings and remote depositions.

  • Enthusiasm for adopting AI legal tools and modern law firm technology to optimize legal processes.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary Range: $150,000 – $200,000 (Higher base salary available for candidates with verified first-chair trial experience or high settlement track record in this space).

  • Direct referral fee compensation on generated/referred cases (paid regardless of whether you actively work on the case).

  • Settlement bonuses on resolved matters.

  • Performance bonuses based on overall productivity and results.Year-end bonus structure.

  • Dental, Health, Life Insurance, PTO, Vision Insurance, 401k

  • Firm covers registration and membership fees for CLEs, seminars, legal organizations, etc.
