Job description

JOB PURPOSE
This role translates HCNA brand, category, channel, and customer strategies into clear, executable commercial plans and builds the planning, governance, and operating discipline required to deliver consistent, aligned growth.
As part of the Business Development Center of Excellence, this role creates clarity from complexity - simplifying ways of working, strengthening core routines (MBR, R&O, S&OP), and enabling one connected view of performance, investment, and risk across CS&P, Field Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain.

This is a builder role for a commercially minded leader who can streamline how the business operates and translate strategy into execution at scale.
You’ll be part of a team that believes in doing work that matters for people and the planet. Because here, we don’t just hire for jobs. We invite you to be part of something bigger.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Planning & Customer Growth

  • Lead annual planning, trade and target setting, plan development, optimization, and forecast governance across the HCNA business.
  • Translate brand, category, channel, and customer strategies into clear, executable commercial plans and focused growth bets for the field.
  • Identify and prioritize customer growth opportunities across channels, including resource needs, execution requirements, and commercial implications.
  • Co-pilot JBP and customer development with CS&P and Field Sales, ensuring plans are grounded in clear assumptions, financial impacts, and execution requirements.
  • Partner cross-functionally to embed brand priorities, innovation, and path-to-purchase strategies into customer plans.

Performance Management, Forecasting & MBR Ownership

  • Own forecast consolidation to deliver one aligned view of the business.
  • Lead MBRs and support S&OP, driving visibility of performance vs. plan, forecast outlook, trade investment, and risks and opportunities.
  • Drive forecast discipline and strengthen core routines — including MBR, R&O, and S&OP — to improve clarity, speed, decision-making, gap identification, and mitigation planning.

Trade & Investment Effectiveness

  • Lead trade investment governance, ensuring transparency, productivity, and alignment with HCNA strategy.
  • Partner with CBMs and Finance to assess ROI, improve trade efficiency, and support disciplined funding decisions.
  • Own the incremental funding process, including prioritization, financial guardrails, and clear recommendations.
  • Monitor spend performance monthly to reconcile plans, mitigate risks, and optimize reinvestment.

Center of Excellence Capability Building & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Act as a day-to-day commercial integrator across CS&P, Field Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain.
  • Reinforce clear roles, decision rights, tools, and operating routines that reduce duplication and increase speed to action.
  • Build and improve commercial processes and systems to enable stronger execution, better governance, and more scalable ways of working.
  • Manage one Business Development Analyst, including prioritization, coaching, development, and quality of analytics and decision support.

Critical Success Measures

  • Improved forecast accuracy, risk visibility, and MBR / S&OP discipline.
  • Transparent, productive trade and incremental investment decisions.
  • Reduced duplication and improved decision clarity across CS&P, Field Sales, and cross-functional partners.
  • Stronger, simpler commercial routines and systems that improve speed, accountability, and execution consistency.

Required Qualifications

  • Typically 5+ years of experience in Sales, Business Development, Customer Strategy & Planning, Commercial Operations, or related roles, with strong experience in annual planning, forecasting, MBRs, trade management, and matrixed ways of working.

  • Strong business and system acumen, including Evergreen, Pigment, Anaplan, SaaS tools, and advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Proven ability to build, simplify, and scale commercial processes and systems, including MBRs, R&O, and S&OP.
