Job description

Razor is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer at the mid level to support a cloud-based platform team. This role will focus on streamlining the software development lifecycle through automation, continuous integration and delivery, cloud infrastructure, and DevSecOps best practices.

The DevOps Engineer will work closely with development and engineering teams to build and improve automated CI/CD pipelines, AWS infrastructure, Linux environments, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). This role will also provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers while identifying opportunities to improve reliability, security, and efficiency across development and production environments.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop tools and processes to advance DevSecOps maturity through automated builds, regression testing, monitoring, and release deployment across environments.
  • Build, maintain, and improve automated DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
  • Support and administer Linux-based systems and environments.
  • Design, configure, integrate, and secure multiple AWS services to deliver sustainable platform functionality.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation using tools and languages such as Terraform, Ansible, Python, and Bash.
  • Automate software builds, deployments, testing, monitoring, and other manual processes.
  • Support complex application build and deployment environments.
  • Implement continuous integration and delivery practices to reduce manual testing and troubleshooting.
  • Leverage open-source tools, automation, and cloud resources to improve platform reliability and engineering efficiency.
  • Collaborate with development and engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing DevOps processes, tools, and platform capabilities.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
  • Document processes, configurations, and technical solutions as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in accordance with the DevOps Engineer, Mid labor category.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting Linux systems engineering efforts, including system design and evaluation, solution engineering, software development, or system administration.
  • 3+ years of experience leveraging cloud service providers, specifically AWS, to create automated DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
  • 1+ years of experience with advanced scripting and Infrastructure as Code, including Ansible, Python, Bash, and Terraform.
  • 1+ years of experience working with a complex build system.
  • 1+ years of experience configuring, integrating, and securing multiple AWS services.
  • 1+ years of experience with Confluence.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or providing technical guidance to other engineers.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing back-end software applications.
  • Experience configuring an Elasticsearch cluster and managing index lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of security scanning tools, their configuration, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Knowledge of Java.
  • Security+ certification or a similar certification.
