Position Overview:

The Epic Analyst Apprentice Training Facilitator serves as a technical coach, learning partner, and people leader for apprentices developing into Epic analysts supporting clinically oriented applications. This role helps apprentices connect formal Epic training; certification content, operational workflows, and OCHIN best-practice build standards to real application support and configuration work. Formal trainers and instructional designers are responsible for developing and delivering the formal curriculum; the facilitator reinforces learning through coaching, applied examples, guided practice, technical review, and day-to-day learner support.

Essential Functions: 

  • Coach apprentices as they complete Epic certification, proficiency, operational end-user training, customer service training, JIRA responsiveness training, and application-specific learning activities.
  • Translate formal curriculum into applied build and configuration capability by helping apprentices understand how clinical workflows, member needs, and OCHIN standards influence system design decisions.
  • Support apprentices in full-cycle revenue cycle applications, including Prelude, Cadence, Referrals, Estimates, Resolute, RTE, and Grand Central.
  • Provide technical leadership for apprentice-appropriate service catalog work, including ticket review, troubleshooting guidance, escalation support, documentation coaching, and readiness assessment.
  • Partner with formal trainers, operational leaders, Help Desk supervisors, MCT supervisors, mentors, and application subject matter experts to ensure apprentices receive coordinated support across the full learning journey.
  • Help apprentices develop sound build habits, including use of documented standards, peer review, testing discipline, clear documentation, and awareness of downstream impacts across the Epic ecosystem.
  • Serve as a people leader and coach by setting expectations, monitoring progress, removing barriers, providing feedback, and supporting apprentice engagement and retention.
  • Contribute to phase-gate readiness conversations by providing evidence of technical growth, quality, productivity, professional behaviors, and readiness for increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Identify common learning gaps and partner with Learning teams to improve job aids, simulations, coaching materials, standard work, and applied practice opportunities.
Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Epic certification and 5 years of hands-on build experience in relevant full-cycle revenue cycle applications, including Epic certifications and hands-on build experience in relevant clinically oriented applications, including Revenue Cycle - (Prelude, Cadence, Resolute Hospital Billing, Resolute Professional Billing) 
  • Demonstrated experience coaching, teaching, training, or mentoring technical teams, analysts, apprentices, or early-career staff.
  • Strong understanding of Epic build and configuration principles, revenue cycle support workflows, testing practices, documentation expectations, and support escalation processes. 
  • Ability to connect technical configuration decisions to patient access, billing, reimbursement, eligibility, referrals, estimates, member operations, and business outcomes.
  • Experience providing constructive feedback, assessing learner readiness, and supporting development plans for technical staff.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Operational experience in relevant patient access, scheduling, registration, referrals, estimates, eligibility, billing, claims, reimbursement, or revenue cycle settings.
  • Experience supporting apprentices, interns, analysts, super users, trainers, or operational teams through structured development programs.
  • Experience contributing to learning materials, job aids, build checklists, peer review tools, or readiness rubrics.
  • Experience supporting cross-application revenue cycle workflows and helping technical teams understand the end-to-end impact of configuration decisions. 

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Constant interpersonal skills, teamwork, and customer service. Frequent creativity, mentoring, presentations/teaching. Occasional decision making and independent judgment or action.  
  • Reading, speaking, writing, and understanding English.  
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.  
  • This position requires a virtual home-office environment, working remotely. 
  • The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and mobile devices. 
  • Travel is required to support OCHIN’s business requirements for Go-Live installations or training which may require travel by air, vehicle, or train. 

Work Location and Travel Requirements

OCHIN is a 100% remote organization with no physical corporate office location. Employees work remotely from home and many of our positions also support our member organizations on-site for new software installations. Nationwide travel is determined based on OCHIN business needs. Please inquire during the interview process about travel requirements for this position. 

Work from home requirements are: 

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently from a home office environment 
  • High Speed Internet Service 
  • It is a requirement that employees work in a distraction free workplace 
  • Travel required up to 10 % nationally for on-site Go Live support based on business requirements for OCHIN 
  • (OR) Travel may be required nationally based on business requirements for OCHIN
