For over 90 years, Hohmann & Barnard, Inc., has pioneered innovative solutions for the masonry industry. As a global leader in manufacturing construction materials for the building envelope, we offer anchors and reinforcement, moisture protection, thermal performance, wall estimating software, and air barrier systems for commercial and residential masonry markets.
 

This position works directly with design teams to develop innovative, constructible, and thermally efficient solutions for challenging projects, while building strong relationships with key architectural firms and industry partners. The role also supports the advancement of industry knowledge through educational presentations, professional involvement, and continued technical development.

The successful employee will “own” all aspects of their territory. This territory includes locations in Canada and the U.S.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Provides Technical Support to the Architectural and Engineering communities
  • Assists Sales by providing product specific technical information
  • Assures H&B products are specified through direct marketing with A/E firms
  • Uses programs including but not limited to Dodge, BSD Speclive to research project leads
  • Follows up with project leads provided by others
  • Helps Contractors submit substitution requests when necessary to the project requirements
  • Reviews project specifications and drawings
  • Provides educational programs to firms, Associations, conferences, etc. as approved by department Director
  • Attends Architecturally focused trade shows as H&B representative
  • Attends appropriate regional or chapter meetings of professional organizations including but not limited to Construction Specifications Institute, American Institute of Architects, etc.
  • Reports industry intelligence to assist with product development
  • Site visits as required to verify product installation, provide instructions, or confer with Project Architect
  • Travel up to 50% of the time
  • Perform additional assignments and projects as directed by management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • 3-5 years of industry related experience
  • Construction Management college degree preferred
  • Certification of Construction Document Technologist by the Construction Specifications Institute or similar, preferred Required Experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to present to large groups
  • Ability to travel to project sites and trade shows
  • Valid passport and driver’s license

Pay Range:

88,000.00 - 132,000.00
