WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are actively seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Systems Administrator to serve as a trusted technical consultant supporting large-scale digital platforms. The ideal candidate brings deep Linux administration expertise, hands-on experience with AWS-hosted services, and the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues independently.

This role is well suited for a collaborative, client-focused professional who can communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders while improving the reliability, security, scalability, and performance of enterprise web environments.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Reporting to our Delivery Operations Manager, as a Full-Time Specialist on our team, you will work remotely to support a high-traffic, public-facing digital platform that serves millions of users and processes significant volumes of content and web traffic. The environment includes a large Drupal-based content management ecosystem maintained by a broad community of content contributors.

Working closely with client stakeholders and delivery teams, you will help translate business requirements into secure, scalable technology solutions while supporting infrastructure operations, platform modernization efforts, and continuous service improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure operations, or enterprise IT support.
  • Demonstrated experience administering Linux-based production environments, including installation, configuration, patching, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience supporting infrastructure and cloud services hosted in AWS.
  • Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Solr Search and Elasticsearch.
  • Experience supporting enterprise web applications, including Drupal CMS and LAMP-stack technologies.
  • Ability to independently diagnose complex infrastructure, application, and integration issues and communicate recommendations to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the professionalism to operate effectively in a client-facing consulting environment.
  • Experience with Akamai CDN services and Drupal hosting platforms such as Acquia is preferred.
  • Experience supporting government, healthcare, life sciences, or another regulated environment is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement, administer, troubleshoot, and maintain AWS-hosted IT systems and cloud services supporting the client's public-facing web environment.
  • Administer Drupal CMS infrastructure hosted on a Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP (LAMP) stack.
  • Manage infrastructure, services, and operational processes across servers, storage, network devices, client systems, and mobile devices, as applicable.
  • Provide advanced technical and help desk support, including problem identification, diagnosis, resolution, escalation, and root-cause analysis.
  • Analyze and resolve complex issues involving server hosts, applications, search services, and software integrations.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, availability, capacity, and resource utilization; conduct capacity analysis and system planning.
  • Troubleshoot network components and maintain the integrity, reliability, and security of production systems.
  • Provide clear technical analysis, status updates, and recommendations to client management and internal stakeholders on escalated issues.
  • Support system and solution architecture design, including infrastructure planning and evaluation of associated hardware and platform components.
  • Install, configure, patch, secure, and maintain Linux and other applicable operating systems; implement enhancements that improve reliability and performance.
  • Apply working knowledge of system administration interdependencies within a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Produce and maintain operational documentation, procedures, and knowledge articles that support consistent service delivery.
