Job description

Looking for Philippines-based candidates

Job Role: Graphic Designer

Compensation range: $1,800 AUD - $2,000 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: The client is a Canberra-based strategic brand and digital studio working with business owners and organizations who want to be clearly positioned for sustainable growth. Based in Canberra, they help clarify direction, shape strong foundations and support visibility through thoughtful strategy and execution.

They are helping shape environments - brands, teams, systems and experiences.

Across our clients we consistently focus on:

  1. The full end-to-end brand experience
  2. How people feel before, during and after engaging with your business or practice
  3. Consistency, clarity and care rather than hype or scale-for-scale’s-sake

Role Overview: This is a hands-on design and production role for a strong mid-to-senior designer who can take strategic and creative direction and turn it into polished, practical design across brand identity, digital, print and web.

Working closely with the Studio Director, you’ll translate brand strategy and creative direction into considered visual identities and carry those identities through to high-quality execution across multiple formats.

You will not be expected to develop brand strategy independently, but you will be expected to interpret a brief intelligently, make sound design decisions, identify inconsistencies or production issues, and deliver work without needing every detail art-directed.

The right person will be equally comfortable developing a visual identity in Adobe Illustrator, preparing packaging or collateral correctly for commercial print, building client-ready templates in Canva, adapting assets for social and digital use, and working within practical website constraints.

This is a role for someone who can take ownership of design production and significantly reduce the amount of day-to-day design management required from the Studio Director.

Key Responsibilities:

Brand Identity & Visual Systems

  • Develop and refine visual identities based on established brand strategy and creative direction
  • Create and maintain logo suites, brand marks, colour palettes, typography systems and supporting graphic elements
  • Develop clear, practical brand guidelines and identity documentation
  • Translate an initial creative concept into a cohesive visual system that works across multiple touchpoints
  • Maintain consistency across established client brands
  • Work confidently within existing brand guidelines as well as contribute to the development of new visual identities

Print Design & Production

  • Design and prepare professional artwork for commercial print
  • Create packaging, product labels, signage, brochures, flyers, advertising, stationery and other printed collateral
  • Work confidently with printer specifications and supplied dielines
  • Set up artwork correctly using CMYK, Pantone and other appropriate print colour specifications
  • Prepare bleed, trim, crop marks and print-ready files correctly
  • Check image resolution, fonts, links and other production requirements before artwork is supplied Preflight files and supply press-ready PDFs
  • Liaise with supplied printer specifications and identify potential production issues before artwork reaches the client or supplier
  • Strong commercial print-production knowledge is essential for this role.

Digital & Cross-Format Rollout

  • Apply brand identities consistently across social media, email marketing, advertising and other digital assets
  • Adapt creative concepts appropriately for different channels and formats rather than simply resizing artwork
  • Create campaign graphics, promotional material and ongoing marketing assets for a range of client brands
  • Maintain visual consistency while working across multiple clients, industries and brand styles

Canva & Client Template Set-Up

  • Translate professionally developed brand systems into practical Canva Brand Kits
  • Create easy-to-use Canva templates for client teams
  • Set up social media, presentation, promotional and other client-ready templates
  • Ensure templates are well structured, visually consistent and simple for non-designers to use
  • Maintain professional design standards when translating Adobe-created brand assets into Canva
  • This role requires someone who is highly capable in Canva, but Canva should complement strong professional design skills rather than replace them.

Web Design & Implementation

  • Design and adapt visual assets directly for use within websites
  • Work comfortably within platforms such as Shopify and Squarespace
  • Create and implement page graphics, banners, imagery and other visual content
  • Understand responsive design and how layouts need to adapt across desktop and mobile
  • Work within practical website and platform constraints rather than designing only static concepts
  • Maintain brand consistency across live website environments
  • Advanced coding expertise is not required, but you must understand how design translates into a functioning website.

Video & Social Content

  • Support social content with basic video editing where required
  • Edit short-form video and Reels using supplied footage
  • Create simple motion graphics or animated brand assets where appropriate
  • Video capability is highly regarded
