About the Job:

We are looking for a Field Deployment Manager to join our client's team and lead the successful deployment of connected building technology across commercial properties. In this role, you will manage deployment projects from pre-installation planning through go-live, coordinate third-party installers and client teams, and provide technical guidance to resolve deployment issues. You will ensure devices are properly installed, connected, configured, and reliably reporting data to cloud or building management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end deployment projects from pre-installation planning through go-live.
  • Review building plans, floor plans, and construction drawings to determine device and gateway placement.
  • Coordinate third-party installers, low-voltage contractors, general contractors, client IT teams, and facility teams.
  • Confirm site prerequisites and track installation progress, logistics, dependencies, and project milestones.
  • Provide technical direction to contractors and resolve deployment blockers.
  • Troubleshoot networking and connectivity issues, including IP addressing, DHCP/DNS, VLANs, firewall rules, port access, and cabling.
  • Coordinate with customer network administrators to resolve connectivity and access requirements.
  • Verify device installation, connectivity, configuration, and data reporting.
  • Identify and resolve issues that could delay deployment or go-live.
  • Maintain project documentation, status updates, and deployment records.
  • Coordinate with internal technical and customer-facing teams when escalations are required.
  • Ensure deployed devices reliably report accurate data to cloud or building management systems.
  • Support continuous improvement of deployment processes and field documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience deploying physical technology in occupied commercial buildings, such as IoT, low-voltage, security, AV, telecom, or building technology.
  • Experience reading and interpreting floor plans and construction drawings.
  • Practical knowledge of networking, including IP addressing, DHCP/DNS, VLANs, firewall rules, port access, and cabling.
  • Experience coordinating third-party contractors, installers, or field service teams.
  • Experience managing technical deployment projects from planning through go-live.
  • Experience troubleshooting technical and connectivity issues remotely and guiding on-site teams through resolution.
  • Experience with BMS/HVAC controls, building automation, IoT, or connected building technology is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, cloud-connected hardware, or sensor deployments is an advantage.
  • Strong project documentation and reporting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deployment projects, dependencies, and milestones.
  • Can start immediately, if possible.
