About the Job:

We are looking for a Technical Solutions Engineer - BMS / HVAC Controls to join our client's team and provide technical support and solutions expertise across customer deployments, support cases, pre-sales activities, and technical escalations. In this role, you will troubleshoot BMS integrations, BACnet communications, networking, firewalls, proxies, and device configuration while working with enterprise customers and internal teams. You will handle technical issues across BMS, networking, devices, and cloud systems from initial troubleshooting through resolution or escalation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues involving BMS, HVAC controls, networking, and connected devices.
  • Troubleshoot BACnet integrations, including point discovery, mapping, communication, and data validation.
  • Diagnose networking and connectivity issues involving DHCP, DNS, VLANs, firewalls, ports, proxies, SSL inspection, and NTP.
  • Support customers with network admission and device connectivity requirements.
  • Investigate data-quality issues across devices, networks, BMS, and integration layers.
  • Manage and resolve technical support cases through an external support queue.
  • Handle routine support requests and complex technical escalations.
  • Support Sales with technical questions during the pre-sales process.
  • Support Customer Success with technical account and connectivity investigations.
  • Assist Deployment teams in resolving technical issues during installations.
  • Support security questionnaires and technical customer requirements.
  • Document troubleshooting processes, solutions, and technical knowledge.
  • Provide feedback to product and engineering teams on recurring technical issues and customer requirements.
  • Escalate issues requiring product-level or engineering intervention.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in BMS, HVAC controls, building automation, or building controls.
  • Strong knowledge of BACnet, particularly BACnet/IP.
  • Practical IP networking knowledge, including IP addressing, DHCP/DNS, VLANs, firewalls, ports, proxies, and NTP.
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues across BMS, networking, devices, and cloud or integration layers.
  • Experience managing customer or technical support cases through ticketing or support queue systems.
  • Experience with Niagara/Tridium or major BMS platforms such as Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Trane, Carrier, Delta Controls, or Distech is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Modbus, enterprise SaaS, IoT products, or connected building technologies is an advantage.
  • Experience with ticketing or CRM platforms such as Zendesk, ServiceNow, HubSpot, or similar tools is an advantage.
  • Experience supporting technical pre-sales activities or enterprise IT requirements is an advantage.
  • Strong technical documentation and written communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical issues and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical customers.
  • Can start immediately, if possible.
