Job Description

A bit about the team and what you'll deliver...

We’re looking for a Sales Engineer to partner with our commercial teams across APAC, bringing technical expertise and a consultative approach to help customers solve complex technology challenges.

As part of our global Sales and Delivery teams, you'll act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle - from discovery and qualification through to solution design, demonstrations, technical proposals and handover into implementation.

You'll work closely with Sales, Product, Engineering and Delivery teams to translate customer requirements into practical, scalable solutions, while helping customers understand the value of Trustonic's technology.

You'll work with organisations across the smartphone, telecoms and technology ecosystem, with a particular focus on device locking, SaaS, APIs, cloud platforms and secure technologies. The role covers APAC and involves approximately 25–40% travel for customer meetings, trade shows and company events.

As the Sales Engineer, you will:

Pre-Sales & solution design

• Partner with Sales teams throughout the sales cycle, providing technical expertise and guidance.
• Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer requirements, use cases and business objectives.
• Deliver tailored product demonstrations and technical presentations.
• Design end-to-end solutions across multiple technologies and domains.
• Develop technical proposals covering solution architecture, integrations, implementation requirements and risks.
• Support technical qualification and identify potential risks early in the sales process.
• Help position Trustonic solutions against competitors and alternative technologies.

Customer & stakeholder engagement

• Build trusted technical relationships with customers, partners and vendors across the APAC region.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling conversations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Provide technical guidance and support throughout the sales process, including objection handling and technical Q&A.
• Influence and align stakeholders across Sales, Product, Engineering and Delivery.
• Support customer meetings, industry conferences, technical forums and events.

Delivery & customer success

• Work with Product and Professional Services to scope delivery requirements and Proof of Concept opportunities.
• Ensure technical requirements, solution designs and risks are clearly handed over to Delivery teams.
• Support customers through the transition from sales into implementation.
• Provide technical guidance throughout the customer lifecycle and help resolve complex customer challenges.
• Help reduce time-to-revenue by ensuring opportunities are well qualified and technically ready for delivery.

Innovation & continuous improvement

• Identify tools and processes that improve customer engagement and internal efficiency.
• Explore opportunities to use AI and emerging technologies to improve technical pre-sales activities.
• Share customer insights and requirements with Product and other internal teams.
• Contribute to improving our pre-sales processes, documentation and ways of working.

You're a technically curious and commercially minded Sales Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and helping customers understand how technology can address their business needs.

You're confident engaging with technical teams and senior stakeholders, and can turn complex requirements into clear, practical solutions. You're also comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment where priorities can change and collaboration is essential.

You're proactive, organised and tenacious, with a genuine interest in technology and emerging trends.

What makes you, you...

Experience

• Experience in Sales Engineering, Pre-Sales, Solutions Engineering, Technical Consulting or a similar customer-facing technical role.
• Experience working within the smartphone, mobile, telecoms or SaaS ecosystem.
• Experience with enterprise customers and complex technical relationships.
• Strong experience in solution design and technical consulting.
• Experience working with secure systems and technologies.
• Strong knowledge of APIs, webhooks and cloud-based architectures.
• Experience working in a SaaS environment.
• Experience with device manufacturers or the device manufacturing ecosystem would be beneficial.
• Experience with device locking technologies would be highly desirable.

• Strong technical discovery, solution design and consultative selling skills.
• Ability to create end-to-end solutions spanning multiple technologies.
• Excellent presentation and product demonstration skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, creative approach.
• Ability to influence and drive progress across teams without direct authority.
• Highly organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Comfortable working with international customers, partners and colleagues.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

It would be great if you also have...

• Experience with first-party locking solutions such as Samsung Knox Guard, Google DLC or Transsion Paytrigger.
• Experience using AI to develop tools or improve technical workflows.
• Familiarity with Zendesk, Aha!, Confluence or Notion.
• Knowledge of the telecoms industry or device manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent level of skill, experience and knowledge in Computer Science and Information & Technology.
