Job description

Citizens Financial Group, Inc. (CFG) seeks a Senior Data Engineer for its Johnston, Rhode Island location.

Responsibilities:

•    Designs, modifies, develops, and implements technology solutions. 
•    Builds modern, architecturally sound components, tools, and applications to meet mission-driven strategic business goals. 
•    Participates in an environment rapidly transforming to the Agile methodology, adhering to best practices and collaborating effectively with teammates. 
•    Infuses quality of service characteristics, including scalability, manageability, and maintainability, into distributed service-based framework to create or expand business or technical capabilities. 
•    Documents development iterations to ensure the quality of technical documentation and creates progress reports. 
•    Participates in code and design reviews with network, infrastructure, and solutions engineering teams to ensure that solutions meet current enterprise standards. 
•    Serve as a technical lead, mentoring and supervising more junior engineers.

Qualifications:

Requires a Master’s degree in Computer and Information Science, or related field and four (4) years of experience as Senior Data Engineer, Talend Data Engineer, or related position. In the alternative, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in the specified fields and six (6) years of the specified progressive, post-baccalaureate experience

Must have 4 years of experience with:  

•    Writing code in multiple programming languages, including Python, Java, and JavaScript;
•    Utilizing cloud technologies, including AWS, AZURE, to build, run, and manage applications across multiple clouds; 
•    Utilizing ETL tools, including DataStage and Talend, and query tools, including Aqua Data Studio and Dbeaver, for ETL development, impact analysis, unit testing, and supporting end users with database joins, self-joins, aggregate functions, rank functions, and case statements; 
•    Developing and integrating APIs using REST to transfer data between source and target applications; 
•    Designing, developing, governing, and maintaining platform level data models to build modern, architecturally sound components, tools, and applications to meet-mission driven strategic business needs; 
•    Utilizing source control tools, including Bitbucket, GitHub, and Gitlab for code collaboration, version control, and repository management; 
•    Utilizing logging frameworks for application logging, including log4j, and performing analysis using Splunk, Data Dog, Prometheus, Kibana, and Grafana; 
•    Utilizing big data technologies, including Hadoop and Spark, to enable streaming capabilities in Apache, Spark, Beam, and Flink; and 
•    Creating and updating Autosys JIL’s for scheduling ETL batch jobs.

100% remote work permitted from any US location.
