Position Overview
SMX Services & Consulting, Inc. is recruiting an experienced ValueOps Technical Consultant / Solution Consultant to support a government-sector enterprise ValueOps environment.
The consultant will provide hands-on technical and functional support across ValueOps configuration, solution architecture, application enhancement, implementation, troubleshooting, administration, documentation, training, and knowledge transfer.
The successful candidate must be capable of independently analyzing technical and functional requirements, recommending appropriate solutions, configuring and enhancing the ValueOps environment, troubleshooting complex issues, and communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
This position is expected to be performed primarily remotely. Onsite participation may occasionally be requested by the client for specific activities.
Experience Requirements
SMX Recruiting Target:
- 7+ years of professional IT, enterprise application, application development, implementation, or technical consulting experience.
- 3+ years of direct, hands-on Broadcom ValueOps and/or Clarity experience.
- Demonstrated experience configuring, administering, developing, enhancing, implementing, or technically supporting ValueOps/Clarity in an enterprise environment.
- Experience independently analyzing complex application requirements and developing technical solutions.
- Experience supporting production enterprise applications and resolving complex technical issues.
- Experience working directly with technical teams, business stakeholders, application administrators, and end users.
Important: The 7+ years overall and 3+ years ValueOps/Clarity thresholds are SMX recruiting targets. The RFQ itself does not specify a minimum number of years.
Key ResponsibilitiesValueOps Configuration
- Configure ValueOps modules, components, workflows, fields, screens, views, and related functionality.
- Modify and enhance existing configurations.
- Configure application settings based on business and technical requirements.
- Configure workflows and business processes.
- Configure user roles, permissions, and application functionality as applicable.
- Support configuration associated with capacity and resource planning.
- Troubleshoot and remediate configuration-related issues.
- Test and validate configuration changes.
- Implement configuration changes resulting from new or modified business requirements.
- Maintain documentation of configurations and configuration changes.
Solution Architecture and Technical Consulting
- Assess technical and functional requirements.
- Develop recommended solution approaches.
- Provide guidance regarding ValueOps architecture, configuration, and implementation.
- Identify technical dependencies and potential impacts of proposed changes.
- Recommend appropriate system designs and configurations.
- Identify opportunities to optimize the existing ValueOps environment.
- Provide technical consultation regarding product functionality and capabilities.
- Support planning for application upgrades, enhancements, and releases.
- Assist with technical planning and implementation decisions.
- Recommend solutions consistent with applicable product and industry practices.
- Clearly communicate technical recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Application Development and Enhancement
- Develop approved ValueOps enhancements.
- Modify existing functionality.
- Develop and configure workflows.
- Develop or modify application components.
- Implement technical configurations supporting new business requirements.
- Support integrations, interfaces, reports, dashboards, and related ValueOps functionality.
- Test developed or modified functionality.
- Troubleshoot and correct development-related issues.
- Support application deployments.
- Document developed and modified functionality.
Implementation and Rollout
- Support implementation planning and technical configuration.
- Perform application setup and solution design.
- Support development, testing, deployment, and validation.
- Assist with production implementations.
- Provide post-implementation support.
- Identify and resolve implementation issues.
- Produce required technical documentation.
- Transfer technical knowledge to client personnel.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot ValueOps application issues and system errors.
- Diagnose reported technical problems.
- Correct configuration issues.
- Support application functionality and performance.
- Perform root-cause analysis.
- Recommend and implement corrective actions.
- Support the environment following application changes and deployments.
- Assist with application upgrades and product changes.
- Coordinate with client personnel, software manufacturers, and other third parties when necessary to resolve technical issues.
Training and Knowledge Transfer
- Provide technical knowledge transfer to client personnel.
- Deliver administrator and functional training.
- Demonstrate newly implemented functionality.
- Develop instructional and technical documentation.
- Document system configurations and processes.
- Provide training associated with system enhancements and changes.
- Conduct technical walkthroughs.
- Provide product and implementation recommendations.
- Help client personnel become increasingly capable of independently administering and supporting the solution.

Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of relevant professional IT/enterprise application experience.
- 3+ years of direct hands-on Broadcom ValueOps and/or Clarity experience.
- Demonstrated hands-on ValueOps configuration experience.
- Experience with enterprise application configuration and administration.
- Experience with application development and enhancement.
- Experience implementing and deploying enterprise application changes.
- Experience troubleshooting production application issues and performing root-cause analysis.
- Experience developing technical and configuration documentation.
- Experience providing user, administrator, or technical knowledge-transfer activities.
- Ability to independently analyze technical problems and recommend and implement solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.

Hardware / Software Requirements
This position supports the client's existing ValueOps environment.
No contractor-provided hardware requirement is currently identified.
No requirement for the individual consultant to purchase ValueOps licenses, third-party software licenses, or subscriptions is currently identified.
Work Location
Services are anticipated to be performed primarily remotely.
The client may determine that onsite participation is necessary for specific activities. Any onsite participation or travel will be coordinated in advance in accordance with contract requirements.
Hours and Contract Structure
The client currently estimates approximately 940 hours of professional technical consulting services for the engagement.
The 940-hour estimate is for planning purposes and is not a guarantee that all hours will be utilized. Work will be based on actual client needs, priorities, authorized assignments, and approved hours.
Compensation
Target Pay Rate: $90.35-$95.67 per hour
Final compensation within the range will depend on demonstrated ValueOps expertise, breadth of technical capability, certifications, relevant enterprise experience, and overall alignment with client requirements.
