Job description

This is a remote position.

Athreon is seeking an experienced Meeting Minutes & Transcription Specialist to 
support professional meeting documentation projects. This independent contractor role 
combines accurate transcription with the ability to transform recorded meetings into 
clear, concise, and well-organized meeting minutes. 
The ideal candidate has professional transcription experience and demonstrated 
experience preparing formal meeting minutes for organizations such as businesses, 
boards, committees, associations, government agencies, educational institutions, or 
similar professional environments. 
Responsibilities 
Transcribe recorded meetings accurately from audio or video 
Review transcripts and recordings to identify key information and outcomes 
Prepare clear, professional meeting minutes according to client requirements 
and templates 
Accurately capture attendees, agenda items, motions, decisions, votes, action 
items, assignments, and other relevant information 
Distinguish important discussion points from conversational or nonessential 
material 
Produce summary, detailed, or other client-specified styles of meeting minutes 
Research names, terminology, organizations, and other information when 
necessary for accuracy 
Proofread and quality-check completed transcripts and minutes before 
submission 
Follow client-specific formatting, confidentiality, and documentation 
requirements 
Meet established turnaround times while maintaining a high level of accuracy 


Requirements


Preferred Qualifications

Professional transcription experience 
Demonstrated experience preparing meeting minutes from recorded meetings 
Excellent English grammar, punctuation, spelling, and editing skills 
Strong listening comprehension and attention to detail 
Ability to summarize complex discussions accurately without changing their 
meaning 
Sound judgment regarding what information should be included in formal 
meeting minutes 
Ability to identify speakers and follow discussions involving multiple participants 
Strong research and proofreading skills 
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines 
Reliable computer, high-speed internet connection, and professional transcription 
equipment/software 
Experience preparing minutes for boards, committees, government agencies, legal 
proceedings, public meetings, or other formal organizations is especially valuable.
