Job description

Head of Product – Commercial Lending Technology

Location: Remote – United States
Employment Type: Full-Tim

The Opportunity

We are seeking a senior Product leader with deep commercial lending and LOS experience to help shape and build the next generation of a commercial lending platform. This person will own product strategy and roadmap priorities, bring strong knowledge of the full commercial lending lifecycle, and work closely with Engineering to turn market and business needs into scalable product capabilities. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can set direction, understand the competitive landscape, and stay close to the details as the product is built.

What You'll Do

  • Own the product strategy, roadmap, and prioritization for a commercial lending technology platform.
  • Bring deep commercial lending expertise across origination, underwriting, credit approval, monitoring, and portfolio management.
  • Use market trends, competitive intelligence, customer needs, and business priorities to guide product decisions.
  • Translate lending workflows and business requirements into clear product requirements, acceptance criteria, and development priorities.
  • Partner closely with Engineering throughout planning, development, testing, and release.
  • Lead and develop a small Product team while remaining hands-on in the day-to-day work.
  • Help establish practical Product processes around requirements, roadmap management, prioritization, and product validation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reduce manual effort, and create stronger differentiation in the commercial lending market.
  • Participate in customer or prospect conversations when Product expertise is needed.

What We're Looking For

Required Experience

  • Significant Product Management experience within commercial lending technology, commercial loan origination systems, banking technology, or a closely related fintech environment.
  • Deep knowledge of the end-to-end commercial lending lifecycle.
  • Experience owning a commercial lending product, product line, or significant product portfolio.
  • Previous leadership responsibility for Product professionals or a Product function.
  • Demonstrated experience owning product strategy, roadmaps, and prioritization.
  • Ability to understand market dynamics and competitive positioning within lending technology.
  • Experience translating business requirements and complex financial workflows into scalable software capabilities.
  • Strong history of partnering directly with Software Engineering teams.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with detailed, hands-on Product work.
  • Strong written, verbal, and executive communication skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working directly for a commercial LOS, lending software, banking technology, or fintech provider.
  • Product experience involving commercial credit underwriting, financial spreading, credit decisioning, portfolio management, or loan workflow technology.
  • Experience building or launching a new product or substantial new platform capability.
  • Familiarity with APIs, integrations, bank cores, and third-party financial technology.
  • Experience introducing stronger Product processes within a smaller or growing software organization.
  • Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment where priorities can change quickly and leaders wear multiple hats.

Work Environment

  • Remote position within the United States
  • Candidates should be comfortable maintaining meaningful overlap with Pacific Time business hours
  • Limited travel expected, primarily for occasional company meetings or strategic in-person sessions
  • Small, distributed Product and Engineering organization
  • Highly collaborative environment with direct access to company leadership

Why This Opportunity

This is an opportunity to have a meaningful influence on the development of a commercial lending product rather than simply inherit and maintain an established roadmap.
The person selected will bring commercial lending knowledge that is critical to the next phase of the platform, helping determine what gets built, how the product should compete, and how technology can improve the commercial lending process.
For someone who understands commercial lending deeply and enjoys building products in a smaller, hands-on environment, this role offers significant ownership and visibility.
