This is a remote position.

Job Highlights:
  • Contract type: Independent Contractor
  • Night Shift Schedule: Monday to Thursday - 8:45am to 5pm New York Time (8:45pm - 5am Manila Time)
  • Friday - 8:45am to 3:45pm New York Time (8:45pm - 3:45am Manila Time)

Description:

The Contracting Assistant assists the Account Manager in basic payer payer contracting, negotiations, and contracting related inquiries. Together, they guide our clients through the payer contracting process by providing expertise in payer contract terms, fees, negotiations, and implementation to achieve the highest reimbursement fees possible. Just as important is the timely renewal of contracts if applicable, effective communication of contracting changes, staying on top of payer contracting trends, and achieving a high level of client satisfaction with contracting services. The person who serves in this role is organized, efficient, a good communicator, and meticulous with client follow-up.

Responsbilities
  • Learn and incorporate in all work and communications the principles and requirements of the company's Values, Uniques, Email Ettiquette, and other cultural standards designed to provide a friendly, productive work environment, and provide services to clients that are noticeably better than any other.
  • Assist partner in setting up a process for payer contracts for each assigned client, including price negotiations, and ensuring the process is followed thoroughly and in a timely manner that results in speedy contract completion.
  • Learn thoroughly about and develop professional, effective relationships with the payers with whom the client is contracting.
  • Stay on top of all open contracts that are due for follow up.
  • Stay on top of all completed contracts that require renewal or verification of payers current rates.
  • Tackle any open contracts that are spinning and escalate if needed.
  • Address initial negotiation requests for open contracts.
  • Handle all payer relations for contracting matters
  • Handle all internal contracting matters
Knowledge/skills/abilities:

  • Detail orientated with above-average organizational skills

  • Able to plan and prioritize to meet deadlines

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Communicates clearly and effectively

  • Excellent reading comprehension

  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word

  • Thorough understanding of navigating the internet

Requirements

  • 2-year college degree
  • Two years experience in US-based medical billing practice orTwo years experience in a medical practice dealing with billing including but not limited to, provider credentialing, authorizations, reimbursement, etc. preferably at least partially in Behavioral Health.
