Job description

Position Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Department:  Finance

Location: Remote

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

Reports to: Accounting Manager

Worker Category: Full-Time

FLSA Classification: Non-exempt 


Position Summary: Responsible for activities in accounts payable and month-end close to ensure accurate and timely financial statement reporting. The position will work cross-functionally with multiple departments and external parties


Job Responsibilities:

  • Process vendor invoices and payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures

  • Ensure appropriate vendor setup

  • Generate and maintain positive relationships with vendors regarding payables 

  • Manage the activities of the company credit card and reimbursement platforms to ensure transactions are recorded in a timely and accurate manner, in collaboration with other finance team members

  • Participate in the monthly closing process, including preparing journal entries, preparing accruals, account reconciliations, and generating reports

  • Support external and internal audit and reporting requirements. Assist in regulatory filings, as needed.

  • Research and resolve problems and errors using internal and external sources and systems. 

  • Participate in and lead ad hoc projects and other responsibilities, as needed

  • Maintain organized files and records

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Knowledge of full-cycle accounts payable and receivable in a high-volume environment

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure

  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, employees, and external parties

  • Experience working with ERP systems (Microsoft Business Central preferred) and Microsoft Office programs

  • 3+ years’ experience or equivalent combination of experience and education
