Job description

This is a remote position.

CAPTAIN | NEW BUILD OYSTER 595 | BAHAMAS, CARIBBEAN and US EAST COAST

We are looking for an experienced Captain for a privately owned sailing yacht ahead of an exciting long-term cruising programme.

Starting November in Florida, this is a fantastic opportunity for a Captain looking to become a valued part of a relaxed owner-operated programme cruising the Bahamas, Caribbean and US East Coast.

The owners spend significant time onboard, typically joining the yacht every few weeks, and enjoy a laid-back cruising lifestyle focused on beautiful anchorages, good food and quality time on the water.

This position would suit a hands-on sailor who is equally comfortable managing the vessel, maintaining systems, and building a strong relationship with engaged owners who enjoy learning about their yacht and being involved in its operation.

The successful candidate will be a highly competent sailor with previous command experience on sailing yachts and a strong understanding of engineering, electrical, electronic and sailing systems. Experience cruising the US East Coast, Bahamas and Caribbean would be a significant advantage.

Organisation, attention to detail and pride in presenting and maintaining a yacht to a high standard are essential. The owners appreciate a tidy, well-run vessel and are looking for someone who is proactive, respectful and takes ownership of the programme.

This is not a high-adrenaline racing or adventure programme. Instead, it offers the opportunity to join a well-planned private cruising programme with appreciative owners, beautiful destinations and a great quality of life onboard.
