Position Summary

Railserve is seeking a Regional Safety Manager to lead our Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) program across the Gulf Region (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida). This role is critical to driving a strong safety culture, partnering with Operations to improve performance, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and customer requirements.  You’ll play a visible leadership role while working in the field, influencing teams, and helping embed safety into everything we do.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and reinforce a proactive, safety-first culture across multiple sites.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain health & safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, FRA, and company/customer requirements.
  • Support Permit to Work, Lockout/Tagout, and other critical safety programs.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments; implement corrective actions.
  • Lead and support incident investigations and reporting.
  • Analyze safety performance data to identify trends and improvements.
  • Provide guidance to site and regional leadership on safety matters.
  • Support and deliver safety training programs for maintenance personnel.
  • Assist with DOT compliance efforts in coordination with compliance leadership.
  • Assist with FRA compliance efforts in coordination with compliance leadership.
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene (IH) monitoring activities.
  • Maintain HSE records and support documentation and reporting requirements.
  • Act as a liaison with customers to ensure safety expectations are met.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through communication and engagement.
  • Able to support operations teams with complex project initiatives and investigations.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Business, or related field, preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of safety leadership experience in rail or oil and gas
  • Able to obtain a US Passport and TWIC card
  • Experience working with Class I railroads and rail-served facilities
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements in both the U.S. and Canada
  • Proven ability to lead incident investigations, analyze data, and drive safety improvements
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels

Work Environment & Travel

  • Regular work in active industrial and rail yard environments.
  • Frequent fieldwork in industrial environments (noise, dust, moving equipment).
  • Ability to walk, climb, kneel, and lift as needed.
  • May require work during nights, weekends, or holidays.
  • Travel required: up to 75% initially, stabilizing closer to 50%
