Position Summary:

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Environmental Director to lead and manage our organization's environmental initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sustainability strategies, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and driving the organization toward measurable environmental stewardship goals.

 

Compensation: Competitive Salary Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday! Salary Range: $140,000-160,000 depending on experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive environmental strategies and programs aligned with organizational goals.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations.
• Lead the environmental department, providing mentorship, guidance, and strategic direction to staff.
• Conduct sustainability assessments, audits, and risk analyses to identify environmental challenges and opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainable practices into all aspects of operations.
• Report environmental performance metrics and progress to executive leadership and stakeholders.
• Represent the organization in public forums, media, and with government and community stakeholders.
• Monitor emerging environmental trends, technologies, and regulatory updates, and advise leadership on potential impacts and opportunities.
• Lead environmental due diligence in projects, acquisitions, and facility developments.
• Develop and deliver training programs to increase staff awareness and engagement in sustainability practices.
• Foster a culture of environmental stewardship, transparency, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Public Policy, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in environmental management, sustainability, or related fields, with leadership experience.
• Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations, compliance standards, and best practices.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and executing environmental and sustainability programs.
• Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Leadership experience managing cross-functional teams, mentoring staff, and fostering collaboration.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Familiarity with environmental management systems (EMS), sustainability reporting frameworks, and data analysis tools.
• Certifications such as LEED AP, ISO 14001, CSP, or CIH are a plus.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, matrixed organization and adapt to changing priorities.

Reporting Structure
• Reports directly to the SVP of EHS.
