Position Summary:

Vendor Account Manager (Vendor Management – Direct Service)

Amerit Fleet Solutions is the leading Fleet Maintenance company in the U.S. We are seeking an experienced Vendor Account Manager to own and develop direct service vendor relationships within a dedicated region as part of our Vendor Management (Direct Service) team.

The Vendor Account Manager will be the primary point of contact and full-stack owner for Amerit's mobile, on-site, and ERS vendor network within their assigned region. You will drive the full vendor lifecycle (contract execution, labor rate negotiation, invoice and billing accuracy, safety prequalification, and performance accountability) to ensure Amerit receives consistent, safe, and fairly priced service from every vendor in your territory.

You won't just be managing paperwork; you will be the trusted relationship owner who keeps vendors engaged and responsive while holding them firmly accountable to their contracts, rates, safety standards, and scorecard results. As an Amerit Vendor Account Manager, you are the single-threaded owner for every vendor in your region, including any national vendor whose corporate address falls within your territory.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in vendor management, procurement, contract negotiation, or fleet operations, with demonstrated experience holding external partners accountable to defined rate, safety, and performance standards.

Compensation: Competitive Salary Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday! Salary range - $110,000-135,000 based on experience!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contract Development and Execution: Manage vendor agreements from execution through renewal for both new and existing vendors in your region, ensuring terms are current, consistent, and enforceable. Ensure every vendor performing work for Amerit is on a contract (Interim or Standard).
  • Rate Negotiation & Billing Accuracy: Negotiate standardized labor rates using historical billing and invoice data, analyze invoice detail to confirm vendors bill at the correct agreed-upon rate, and identify and resolve billing discrepancies directly with vendors.
  • Safety Qualification & Accountability: Administer the vendor safety prequalification process for your region, review safety documentation, track non-responsiveness or incomplete qualification, and flag outliers for escalation.
  • Vendor Performance & Scorecard Accountability: Maintain and apply the Vendor Scorecard to track rate compliance, safety, quality, and responsiveness; use results to drive coaching conversations, corrective action, or vendor network changes.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Serve as the consistent, trusted point of contact for vendor questions, issues, and escalations in your region, building working relationships that keep vendors engaged and willing to partner on rate and process improvements.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with Legal on contract language, risk terms, and dispute resolution, and report scorecard and vendor performance trends to leadership to inform vendor strategy.

  • Ability to deep dive into billing and performance data and translate it into vendor negotiation or accountability decisions.

Role Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in vendor management, procurement, contract negotiation, or fleet operations.
  • Experience auditing invoices or billing data for accuracy is highly preferred.
  • System and data skills to include Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Preferred experience with vendor management systems, safety prequalification platforms, and AI-powered tools (Co-pilot, Claude, Gemini, etc.).

Working Conditions

  • Role will require travel (5-10% as needed) within the assigned region for vendor site visits and escalations, as needed, and will manage with frugality within the team travel budget. Travel may include team meetings.
  • Based within or near the assigned region (United States).
