Job description

About the Role

A fast-growing, privately held healthtech and telemedicine company — operating at the intersection of prescription skincare, eCommerce, and consumer wellness — is hiring an Accounting Manager to join its Finance team. This is a high-impact role responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and scalability of financial operations as the business continues to grow. You'll own the month-end close, oversee core accounting functions, and partner cross-functionally to drive financial transparency and operational efficiency.

This is a hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and own the month-end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.

  • Oversee core accounting functions: revenue recognition, inventory, intercompany, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and fixed assets.

  • Review and manage preparation of financial statements and internal reporting packages.

  • Perform balance sheet and P&L fluctuation analyses to deliver actionable business insights.

  • Manage treasury activities including cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and liquidity optimization.

  • Partner with Supply Chain to improve inventory controls, reporting, and forecasting (cycle counts, inventory turns).

  • Develop and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal documentation.

  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation initiatives to support scale.

  • Manage, mentor, and develop staff accountants to build a high-performance team.

  • Support external audits and readiness for public company reporting requirements.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive accountability, transparency, and operational efficiency.

  • Hands-on experience with month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.

  • Experience with revenue recognition, inventory management, intercompany accounting, payroll, AP/AR, and fixed assets.

  • Treasury experience: cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and liquidity management.

  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop staff accountants.

  • Experience driving process improvement and automation (ERP optimizations, automation tools).

  • Experience supporting external audits and public company reporting readiness.

  • Proficiency with ERP systems and strong Excel skills for analysis and reporting.

Nice to Have:

  • Background in eCommerce, healthcare, telemedicine, or inventory-based businesses strongly preferred.
