Job description

About Escape

Escape secures the code-to-cloud attack surface that covers DAST, ASM and AI Pentesting. Our platform continuously maps and tests every asset exposed to the internet, including undocumented APIs and endpoints, with automated AI penetration testing and DAST running at the pace of modern development teams.

With a team of 45+ people based across Paris, Amsterdam, Hawaii, Boston, and New York, Escape is Series A funded and rapidly growing. We are building a world-class team to help organizations protect what matters most.

The Role

As a Security Advocate at Escape, you will bridge the gap between our security technology and the engineering community. You will champion security best practices, promote our platform, and empower developers, security teams, and customers to take proactive approaches to security.

Our users and customers are deeply technical: Security Engineers, AppSec teams, developers, security researchers and CISOs. We’re looking for someone who can speak their language and become one of the technical voices of Escape in the security community.

Your mission: demystify complex security issues, contribute to our product’s visibility, and build lasting relationships with technical communities. Through talks, live demos, content creation, and customer engagement, you’ll be the voice of Escape’s security expertise and a trusted partner for our users.

Why We’re Hiring

Some of the best conversations in cybersecurity don't start with a sales pitch. They start with an interesting vulnerability, a technical demo, a GitHub project, a conference talk, a strong opinion or a very good security meme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on application and cloud security, representing Escape at industry events, conferences, and webinars

  • Create and deliver engaging content: blogs, videos, presentations, and technical documentation that educates and inspires

  • Work directly with customers to understand their challenges, provide best practice guidance, and gather feedback for product improvement

  • Build relationships with developer, security, and DevSecOps communities to amplify Escape’s message

  • Stay informed on security threats, trends, and best practices, sharing insights internally and externally

  • Partner with Product, Sales, and Engineering to ensure our solutions address real customer challenges

What You Bring:

  • Strong technical knowledge of cybersecurity, ideally AppSec, offensive security, penetration testing, web/API security or developer security.

  • The ability to understand vulnerabilities and technical concepts deeply enough to explain and demonstrate them yourself.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to make complex security topics clear, interesting and entertaining.

  • Genuine interest in cybersecurity culture and the people behind it.

  • Confidence engaging with highly technical audiences online and in person

  • Curiosity and a strong research mindset. You naturally want to understand how things work and what can break.

  • A willingness to create: writing, videos, demos, talks, live sessions or other technical content.

  • Comfortable travelling regularly for conferences, meetups and community events.

  • Excellent spoken and written English.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary and equity package

  • Remote-first work with regular company offsites

  • Opportunity to have a direct impact on our product and community

  • A collaborative and inclusive team passionate about advancing security

Hiring Process

  • 30 min intro call with People & Talent.

  • Technical/security conversation with the team.

  • Practical case focused on security advocacy and content.

  • Conversation with Growth and/or Security Research.

  • 45 min conversation with the founders.

  • Reference checks, then offer.
