Description:

CTG is seeking a remote Senior Payroll Specialist for our client.

 

Location: Remote

Duration: 11 months

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process biweekly and off-cycle payroll accurately, on time, and in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Process employee pay, time, leave, time-off, retroactive pay, and one-time pay and benefit adjustments.
  • Review final pay for terminated employees, including accrued time off and severance, as applicable.
  • Research and resolve complex payroll issues, discrepancies, and employee inquiries in partnership with HR Service teams.
  • Manage employee overpayments, ACH rejects, garnishments, taxable stock transactions, and related corrections and reconciliations.
  • Review leave-of-absence transactions and adjust time-off accruals when employees' scheduled hours change.
  • Create, audit, and reconcile payroll upload files and other payroll-related transactions.
  • Coordinate with third-party providers to establish, reconcile, and resolve garnishments and other payroll matters.
  • Maintain payroll documentation, internal controls, audit requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Identify and escalate payroll risks and issues as needed.
  • Train and mentor less experienced Payroll team members.
  • Support system testing, process improvements, payroll projects, and other assigned initiatives.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Independently perform complex payroll activities requiring knowledge of payroll processing, time and attendance, leave administration, payroll accounting, and applicable regulations.
  • Ensure payroll transactions are accurate, timely, documented, reconciled, and compliant.
  • Collaborate with HR, payroll, benefits, time and attendance, and third-party partners to resolve issues and maintain effective payroll operations.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of progressive payroll processing experience, preferably within a large or complex organization.
  • Strong knowledge of biweekly payroll processing, time and attendance practices, and payroll-related regulations.
  • Experience with payroll adjustments, off-cycle payments, final pay, overpayments, garnishments, ACH transactions, and leave-related payroll activities.
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Experience with Workday Payroll, Workday HCM, or Workday Time and Attendance.
  • Experience with payroll accounting, reconciliations, audits, internal controls, compliance, system testing, and related projects.
  • Experience working with third-party payroll providers and garnishment administrators.
  • Experience training or mentoring payroll professionals.

The expected base salary for this position is $22.61-$33.00 per hour. Offers are based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, market conditions, and applicable licenses or certifications. A competitive benefits package is also offered.
