JOB TITLE: PAYROLL & ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST  

LOCATION: REMOTE 

POSITION TYPE: PART-TIME  


GENERAL DESCRIPTION 

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll and Accounting Specialist to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for managing payroll operations in the Philippines, ensuring full compliance with local tax and benefits regulations, and supporting international bookkeeping activities (specifically Australia and the United States). 

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Philippine payroll systems, government compliance (SSS, Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth, BIR), and tax filings, while also being comfortable assisting with general accounting/bookkeeping for international operations. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 


  1. Payroll Management (Philippines): 

  • Process monthly payroll accurately and on time for all PH-based employees. 
  • Manage statutory contributions and filings (SSS, Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth, BIR). 
  • Handle annual and quarterly tax filings and compliance reports. 
  • Prepare payroll reports for the management and finance team. 
  1. Benefits Administration: 

  • Maintain accurate employee records related to benefits and entitlements. 
  • Liaise with relevant government agencies for employee benefits updates. 
  • Assist HR with employee onboarding and offboarding processes related to payroll. 
  1. Invoices, Accounts Payable & Receivable: 

  • Create and issue invoices to clients or internal departments. 
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables, ensuring timely collections. 
  • Record and manage accounts payable, verifying and processing vendor bills. 
  • Reconcile statements and resolve discrepancies with customers or suppliers. 
  • Maintain organized documentation for all payables and receivables. 
  1. Accounting & Bookkeeping Support (Australia and US): 

  • Record and reconcile financial transactions in Xero, QuickBooks, or similar systems. 
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes. 
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports and audits. 
  • Ensure compliance with Australian and US accounting standards and tax regulations where applicable. 
  1. Other Duties: 

  • Collaborate with HR and external advisors as needed. 
  • Keep up to date with changes in tax laws and accounting standards in all relevant jurisdictions. 
  • Recommend and help implement process improvements in payroll and accounting systems. 



Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • Relevant payroll or accounting certifications (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional or Certified Management Accountant) are a plus. 
  • 3+ years proven experience in Philippine payroll processing and compliance. 
  • Hands-on experience with tax filings in the Philippines (BIR), including statutory deductions (SSS, Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth). 
  • Proficiency with payroll software and accounting platforms. 
  • Familiarity with MS Excel or Google Sheets, including advanced formulas and data analysis. 
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, or similar. 
  • Experience with bookkeeping/accounting support for Australia and/or the United States (not required but is a plus). 
  • Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and accuracy. 
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Ability to work independently and across different time zones if needed. 
  • High level of integrity and professional ethics.
