Summary:

The Application Specialist VI serves as a senior-level technical resource supporting the development, operation, maintenance, integration, and enhancement of EFMSS and related applications. This position provides advanced technical analysis and troubleshooting, leads application enhancements and customizations, supports requirements development and system changes, and coordinates technical activities across application, database, infrastructure, and security environments.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide senior-level technical support and development for EFMSS and associated software products.
  • Lead application operations and maintenance activities, including configuration, installation, upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and performance improvement.
  • Analyze complex application problems, perform root cause analysis, identify defects, and develop and document corrective measures.
  • Lead the development and customization of EFMSS applications and application interfaces.
  • Collect, analyze, validate, and document requirements for application enhancements, interfaces, and components.
  • Perform adaptive maintenance to address changing business and technical requirements.
  • Lead implementation of major and minor application releases and updates.
  • Manage and control application configuration and approved system changes.
  • Perform technical and system impact analysis associated with proposed changes.
  • Coordinate application changes and implementations with database administrators, system administrators, security personnel, other technical teams, and external vendors.
  • Lead integration activities between EFMSS applications, external applications, and databases.
  • Provide technical guidance to software and report developers regarding application and data-related issues.
  • Support development, modification, validation, and implementation of reports.
  • Provide technical support for web applications, including enhancements, customizations, interfaces, and application components.
  • Conduct application testing and validation before production implementation.
  • Support configuration, security, and design reviews applicable to application components.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Advanced knowledge of application development, integration, configuration, troubleshooting, and O&M processes.
  • Knowledge of enterprise application architectures and application interfaces.
  • Knowledge of requirements analysis, change management, configuration management, and software lifecycle processes.
  • Knowledge of application security and system integration concepts.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex application and integration problems.
  • Ability to lead technical application initiatives and coordinate work across multiple technical disciplines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience supporting, developing, integrating, maintaining, or troubleshooting enterprise applications.
  • Demonstrated experience with complex application development, enhancement, integration, or O&M activities.
  • Experience performing requirements analysis and translating requirements into technical solutions.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis and resolving complex application issues.
  • Required to successfully pass a background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

 

Pay and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $92,000 to $94,500.
