Summary:

The Application Specialist IV provides technical support, application maintenance, development, configuration, troubleshooting, and enhancement services for EFMSS and related software applications. This position supports the operation and maintenance of enterprise applications, interfaces, web applications, reports, and associated components to ensure reliable system performance and availability.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide technical support, development, configuration, operation, maintenance, patching, and troubleshooting for EFMSS and other software applications.
  • Install and implement major and minor application releases, updates, patches, and enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot application issues, identify defects, perform root cause analysis, and document corrective actions.
  • Perform operations and maintenance activities for EFMSS applications.
  • Develop enhancements, customizations, interfaces, and application components based on defined requirements.
  • Collect and validate requirements for enhancements to application interfaces and components.
  • Perform adaptive maintenance to ensure applications continue to perform effectively as requirements change.
  • Support application interfaces with external systems and databases.
  • Support and maintain web applications and associated application components.
  • Support the hosting infrastructure associated with web applications, including middleware and plugins, as applicable.
  • Assist with the planning, testing, implementation, and transition of new web applications into the O&M lifecycle.
  • Support application and report developers with troubleshooting of application- and data-related issues.
  • Support development and modification of reports, including correcting functionality and performance issues.
  • Maintain application configuration and support approved system changes.
  • Participate in testing and validation of application changes prior to implementation.
  • Support backup, recovery, training environment, and contingency activities as they relate to assigned applications.
  • Maintain technical documentation associated with application configurations, processes, changes, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with database, infrastructure, security, and other technical personnel to resolve application issues.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of application operations, maintenance, configuration, troubleshooting, and development.
  • Knowledge of software development and application lifecycle processes.
  • Ability to analyze application defects and determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Ability to collect, validate, and translate requirements into application enhancements.
  • Ability to troubleshoot application, interface, and data-related issues.
  • Ability to work effectively with technical and functional stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting, maintaining, configuring, developing, or troubleshooting enterprise applications.
  • Experience supporting application operations and maintenance in a production environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting application defects and performance issues.
  • Experience working with application interfaces, databases, or web-based applications.
  • Required to successfully pass a background investigation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

 

Pay and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $78,000 to $81,000.
