Job description

Job Overview:

The Senior Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the overall architecture of our IT systems to support the organization's current and future needs. The Senior Architect will have a strong background in IT infrastructure, systems integration, and software development, with the ability to analyze complex problems and design innovative solutions. He/she will be responsible for providing strategic direction, designing complex IT solutions, and mentoring junior architects.

    Summary of Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain the organization's IT architecture framework, ensuring alignment with business objectives, industry best practices, and emerging technologies.

    • Lead the development and maintenance of the organization's IT architecture framework, ensuring alignment with business objectives, industry best practices, and emerging technologies.

    • Provide technical leadership and guidance to architecture and development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural principles, standards, and guidelines.

    • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements.

    • Design end-to-end IT solutions, including infrastructure, applications, data, and security components, to support business processes and workflows.

    • Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance the organization's IT capabilities and drive innovation.

    • Lead architectural reviews and provide guidance to development teams to ensure adherence to architectural principles, standards, and guidelines.

    • Identify and mitigate architectural risks and issues through proactive planning and effective communication with stakeholders.

    • Define and maintain documentation related to IT architecture, including diagrams, standards, policies, and procedures.

    • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in IT architecture, and apply knowledge to drive continuous improvement.

    • Measurably impact company performance by delivering high quality, scalable data products.

    • And all other duties as needed or assigned.

    Qualifications (Minimum Required):

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

    • Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.

    Experience (Minimum Required):

    • 6 years of experience in Enterprise, Business, Information, Systems and Application, Solution Architectures.

    • Strong expertise in designing and implementing enterprise-scale IT solutions across multiple platforms and technologies.

    • In-depth knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their services.

    • Proficiency in system integration techniques, including API design, microservices architecture, and message queuing protocols.

    • Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.

    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

    Preferred Qualifications Include:

    • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

    • Experience in pharmaceutical R and D, clinical development and/or healthcare IT.
