In January of 2010 the company was renamed to IKERD Consulting, LLC with i2concepts remaining as a subsidiary and received HUB and NCTRCA certifications as a woman owned business in Texas. In 2011 the firm’s management team was further expanded by Will Ikerd, PE joining as principal. They currently have offices in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Denton Texas. A new Houston area office will be opening in May of 2013. To date, Ikerd Consulting is recognized as a national leader in the area of integrated project consulting that utilizes Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) with BIM. The firm’s management team chairs two national committees on BIM for Structural Engineering and the AGC BIM Forum. They have been active members of national BIM committees and task forces for the steel (AISC), concrete (ACI) and glass (GANA) industries. The firm has achieved steady growth over its initial years with a talented team of BIM consultants that bring state of the art technology and consulting to the build environment.

Job description

Graduate Architect - Mexico – VDC Department

Location: Remote from Merida and other cities inMexico or from our Torreon office.

About Role: We are looking for architects towork within our Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) team as part ofbuilding design. This role will provide the opportunity to work on some of themost innovative and exclusive projects that IKERD are involved with globally.Candidates will need to work 48-56 hours per week and typically will work remote from home or at our Torreón office. This is for recent graduates as well asexperienced individuals in architecture with a strong desire to learn.

The position requires someone who is acreative problem solver, quick thinker, and sound decision maker. They musthave zero tolerance for gossip with a team first, servant-leader heart to helpthe firm communicate and serve clients with excellence.

Responsibilities:

·        Learning and mastering Autodesk RevitArchitecture and other BIM software.

·        Assisting design indrawing production and prepare them for commercialbuilding projects.

·        Review project files forcompliance with standards/protocols.

·        Learn laser scanning for3D model creation of buildings.

·        Implement best practiceprocedures for engineering analysis.

·        Produce accurate 2Ddrawings, 3D models.

·        Coordinating drawingproduction in line with project requirements and in conjunction with otherdisciplines.

·        Help to technicallydeliver CAD/BIM projects in the role of CAD and BIM coordination.

·        Ability to focus andwork well alone or collaborative within a team.

·        Ability to meet tight deadlines.

Qualities and Skills:

  • A working knowledge of Architecture within the building industry.
  • The desire for a multi-disciplinary, developing knowledge and aptitude within these disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Structure, and Civil.
  • Proficiency of BIM modeling in at least one of these Autodesk products: AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Inventor, and/or Civil 3D.

·        Desire to obtain the Certificate of Development in BIM,Part 1 certification (CD-BIM.com) and Autodesk Professional RevitCertifications.

·        Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.Strong English proficiency is a plus.

·        Excellent attention to detail, organized and able to detectand resolve issues.

·        Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidentialinformation.

·        Self-motivated, hardworking, collaborative, and able totake responsibility in a proactive approach to daily tasks.

·        Maintain a good attitude and flexibility within a dynamicwork environment.

Desirable:

·        Knowledgeof Microsoft Office 2016 or higher. Good working knowledge of Word, Excel,Publisher, and PowerPoint. Relevant training will be given to suitablecandidates.

·        Experienceworking in the commercial building industry is a plus.
